It depends whether they go down this season without it or not.

They will go down this season without it, by the looks of it. That can't surely be the thinking of the Football League behind their decision? I'd prefer they went down and then gave it to them in League 2. That club has still got away with murder, so it's the least they deserve IMO.

The people who've stumped up their money and put countless hours into the process of saving their club don;'t really give a tinker's cuss what division their club is in - they're just grateful to actually have a club.

You don't say? However, there are neutrals that still feel that club got away with murder and should have been kicked out of the Football League at the very least.

Of course. But what that would have achieved when the people who did the damage are long gone is anyone's guess.

Any this is HNA? - you can never explain too much, because there's always someone who doesn't get it!

If that's the way we should think then clubs should never be punished then, as it's not their fault; the owners and money men should instead be prosecuted. As harsh on the club and its fans as it is, the implications should be a hell of a lot stiffer than they have been for Pompey. Portsmouth have quite literally pushed the boundaries and then pushed them even further again and the FA/FL etc have been far too accommodating.

Wonder how Luton fans feel about the continual financial mismanagement and lack of punishment...

And has Andronikou managed to find himself any further work since his shambles of an administration first time around?

Good news for football in many ways, great news for Pompey. Can't help but be disappointed it hasn't resulted in them totally folding though.

this

people saying that PFC can't be punished enough should try looking at it from the Pompey fans' pov.

I'd be more comfortable with the fans POV if they agreed to expunge any honours won during this sorry period.

You underestimate some of us. If my club was responsible for such shenanigans and shafting local business and charities, I would still want to see justice done. I used to love football, but over the last few years it has proven itself to be merciless, morally bankrupt and corrupt. I hold my own principles in much higher esteem.

I wouldn't. I'd want the w@nkers who screwed us out of the club and the club given as many lives as Portsmouth have had, and I wouldn't care what league we were in at the end of it. I just want my club to survive.

And how long before you start demanding that the club spend money that they don't have to get back to "where we belong"? (Which is what I will think will happen here)

I'm glad that the supporters have the chance to reclaim their city's football club, but it would have been a whole cleaner if if had been from a phoenix club

Pompey threw away a 2-1 lead in the dying minutes and lost 3-2. Now 5 behind with 2 to play. :D

Now save their points deduction for next season!!

Oldham (on 44 pts) now the only side above the bottom four whom Pompey (39) could pip to the wire

Thing is, Oldham have four remaining fixtures (where Pompey and many of the rest have two) and need do no better than draw two of those to send Pompey down

And this assumes that Pompey defeat Sheff Utd and Shrews

Before all of that, Pompey will be down if Oldham win at home to Yeovil on Tuesday
