Cobi
fedders1871 Was just thinking would daniel carrico ever play again? due to the 'adkins era', might be a shit thread but wanted to see what other people think about carrico's situation.

Why isn't this in The Team section?

I expect he'll go this summer along with the high earners (Pog, Guthrie, Feds)

Wouldn't think he'd be off as he's spent a season out dye to contractual issues and then not played for us yet, not sure many bids will come in for him plus he's on a decent wage but but as are all or players atm, he's not on pog or guthrie style wages I've heard.

Because there is already a thread about him in the team section and it is far too much to expect people to look and post there before starting a new thread.

Dont think he actually said that, I got the impression we wont see him play this season as he also mentioned how hard it is for players from abroad to settle into the pace of football in England... blah blah blah. But then after all that he said how impressed he is with him so who knows.

He said he trained well and could feature due to Akpan being injured.

"Daniel has trained very well this week, he's a player who hadn't figured previously but has only been here for a short period of time. I've experienced it myself with players at previous football clubs, if you come from another country it takes a little settling in period. You've got to get used to the level, the tempo and the speed. Your family has to settle in, you have to get used to everything. But Daniel trained very well this week. I'm really pleased with him."

That there is what Adkins said, doesnt mention him possibly playing at all.

The EP (Jonathan Low) writes that he (Carrico) may feature as part of the Reading squad tomorrow.

I think he actually meant that he'll play him in goal.

Make that judgement when and if he gets fit surely?

Thought he showed some signs of real promise in his only first team appearance thus far, just way off match fitness.

Saying that, this is HNA where snap judgements are practically demanded....

I think he will become a great player for us, you dont get followed by Europe's top clubs for nothing. But that does beg the question What is he doing here?

Thought Carrico looked very classy when he came on today. Brought something extra out of Guthrie having another ball player alongside him too.

If we can keep him fit and firing next year will be head and shoulders above other players in the Championship.
