I hold up my hands. Flagellate me, now. Whoever said the most cultured "play in front of the back four" player ever to pull on the Hoops would never play for us again? Pure quality. I bet Guthers is glad.

grey_squirrel A signing sponsored by You Tube (and watched by McDermott having mislaid his glasses). Lets hope he is costing us less than Winston Bogarde did Chelsea.

Royal Ginger Carrico = Second hand car with a patched up radiator.

Extended-Phenotype Well, as Brian The Genius decided not to do any scouting prior to one of the biggest seasons in our history, I'm not surprised we ended up signing a paraplegic

windermere_royal why on earth do you think all of these big sides that showed an interest pulled out? appalling management of the highest level.

Scarface Horrific and embarrassing signing

Bit early to be giving it the big one m8.

I think you've confused not writing anything at all, with "giving it the big one". Easy mistake to make.

So, do we reckon, by the nature of his injuries that we'll still have him and be able to hold on to him for a season in the Championship? After all, the likes of the Pog and Guthrie, I guess, will likely be off. But can we keep Caricco? If we can, then we'll be immense with his class.

Hard to see another team wanting him as he's not played...but you never know, he could cite "unable to settle" and back to Portugal as quick as you can say Eusebio da Silva Ferreira.

The fact that Carrico may turn out to be a far better player than many thought does not mean that we still didn't cock up by signing a player who was injured and unable to play when we clearly needed someone who could come in and make an immediate positive impact. Had we signed that player and Carrico then that might have proven to be very good business. Since we didn't, it is very likely that Carrico will be displaying his skills in the Championship next year (assuming he is prepared to stay and play at that level).

Looked classy when he came on, him and Guthrie will be the strongest centre mid pairing in the Championship by some distance next season. See you bye Leigertwood.

There's promise there but he's had one good half hour let's not go overboard just yet.

Sanguine
St. Brynjar His tackle on Gerrard was amazing.

Yeah I did a bit of a sex wee at that, Gerrard getting Gerrarded.

That was awesome.

He looked fukking knackered after 20 mins though. Looks promising though.

Looked very good when he came on. Good tackling and looked composed on the ball. My only real concern is that he throws himself into tackles alot, which means I could see him picking up alot of cards over the course of a season.

He looked immense from where we were, very pleasantly surprised - he was on the near post and extremely vocal for all the corners once he was on, and definitely didnt come across as a player who was out of match experience. Impressed.

Delighted for him. Could be a big player for us next season. LOL @ the HNA haters writing him off.

He's got a contract. I expect the club to hold him to it

That's a bit harsh. Spread over the entire season, I've see Ledge play well for at least half an hour.

So, a Portuguese reading fan I know met Daniel Carrico yesterday and had a chat with him.

Apparently he told him that he is off if Reading get relegated. He also said that Brian was not his biggest fan, hence why he did not play.

Sad news, as I thought he looked really good yesterday.
