Well I happen to be an acquaintance of Carrico's cousin who says they are settled here and don't want to leave (his cousins in the academy)

Rollerbob Apparently true.

Guess we'll find out in the summer.

1) Why would he have signed for us when we looked relegation certainties if he was off if we got relegated?
2) I seem to recall him doing and interview and saying relegation wasn't a big issue for him because he thought we'd have a good chance of bouncing back.
3) Why would McDermott be "not his biggest fan" after signing him and then being so desperate to get him in the side he played him when he was half fit?
4) You happen to know a portuguese reading fan, who happened to be at the match and happened to meet Carrico, who happened to tell him all about his future plans in completely unprofessional manner?

I smell bullshit.

The Beardy Man Thought Carrico looked very classy when he came on today. Brought something extra out of Guthrie having another ball player alongside him too.

If we can keep him fit and firing next year will be head and shoulders above other players in the Championship.

Carrico is the player guthrie SHOULD be

They're different players and should hopefully compliment each other quite nicely. And if not, we'll just have to find a different combination that works.

Rollerbob So, a Portuguese reading fan I know met Daniel Carrico yesterday and had a chat with him.

Apparently he told him that he is off if Reading get relegated. He also said that Brian was not his biggest fan, hence why he did not play.

Sad news, as I thought he looked really good yesterday.

Shut up you moron!

The irony of this being linked to a post related to Danny Guthrie.

Except of course he has hardly ever been used as a scapegoat because for some reason he gets a free pass, one of the few things associated with that word he has been able to pull off this season, from everyone even when he refuses to play.

On the contrary a large portion of this site seems to enjoy criticising Guthrie for anything and everything. Yes, he was a dick and refused to play. He apologised and if that was good enough for Brian (which it was, he returned to the team relatively quickly) then it's good enough for me. In my eyes he's a player who obviously possesses plenty of skill and flair, and his performances have been sufficient to warrant a starting place, particularly when considering the options surrounding him.

Jem Karacan is a player who with the exception of one or two games (Everton & Liverpool home spring to mind as his better performances) has remained largely anonymous throughout the season and has been disappointing.

If I used Mikele Leigertwood (who in fairness has been abject in numerous games this season) as my example then this would be an example of scapegoating as he's come in for unnecessary criticism from many.
