Maguire Carrico still looked off the pace to me. Glad to see him back but don't get why everyone was giving him 8/10s. Looked absolutely knackered after three minutes.

Maguire Guthrie reminds me of Matejovsky.

Foreign name = instant footballing genius to Reading fans.
Remember when Kalifa Cisse was the new Vieira?
who could forget Marek Matejovsky being "on a different wavelength" to his team mates?
Or when Mass Sarr was better than Weah? (ok maybe that one was a slight exaggeration but you get the point)

In danger of getting a bit English Defence League there.

He reminds me of Darren Caskey. Should be the best player we have, but isn't and by a long stretch.
Agree with what you said earlier about Carrico, way too early to be calling him our saviour. But it was nice to see him on the pitch and not play badly.

Ian Royal 4) You happen to know a portuguese reading fan, who happened to be at the match and happened to meet Carrico, who happened to tell him all about his future plans in completely unprofessional manner?
I smell bullshit.

Yes, I know a Portugese reading fan, who spoke to him in Portugese. I'm only going on what he says they spoke about. I'm not saying it's 100% truth, but it would be a pretty pointless lie. He's hardally a guy to make up stories for a laugh.
Also, It's not hard to meet the players. Go for a drink after the game at the hotel, and as you are coming out, so are the players.

Ian's not calling your make-believe Portuguese friend a liar. He's calling you a liar.

LightwaterRoyal I dont think he's quite up to starting games just yet, but what do I know. He broke up play really well and hassled like Karacan but actually put a tackle in instead of just pressuring. Once we had the ball back he didnt welly it up the pitch but played simple passes to his teammates.
He reminds me a bit of Gerrard but I havent seen him shoot yet.
No pressure ay Daniel
