madstadblues How much do we think we would get for the players we would let go ?

Pog
Church (free but isn't there a rule regarding age and contract expiry)
Pearce (as above) 18k per week = 1 Mill per year no chance
Guthrie ?
Tabb
Blackman

Do you actually follow the club?

Church is a free and too old for compensation. If there was compensation, it would be us paying someone to take him away...
Pearce was offered 18k to stay, so yes we were more than prepared to pay that in the Championship. Roberts was given more.
Guthrie - If sold would fetch maybe £1.5-2m.
Tabb is a free...
Blackman? Why on earth would we sell him so soon?

I'd say a couple million for Pog (we have Hammond who could probably hold out for a decent sum), Pearce, Guthrie & Tabb are all free, and I imagine Guthrie would go for over a million. Blackman is here for the next year at least.

pog has stated he wants to stay in england and i cannot see anyone taking him espicially with the wages he is on.. church is going end of along with pearce... guthrie will stay as he fits right into adkins style and who will take guthrie on his wages and he hasn't had the best attitude this season, tabb probably will leave, blackman will stay.

church is 24... is the rule for compensation for players under 24, or 24 and under?

It's kind of ironic that it is very likely that Adkins will spend more on the team for the Championship than McD spent on the team for the Premiership :|

This is likely to play a big part in our budget, parachute payments to be increased from next season hopefully.

You would think so, but with rumours of Chaplow on a "free" perhaps we are still on the "Reading Way".

Spend more than we did this season? With free transfers and signing on fees included we spent easily £11m and more. Some of you really need to get a grip of reality!

If Adkins gets a £5-6m transfer kitty then that will be decent. Don't forget the club will also try and keep some of their high earners here next season, so that eats into 'the budget' as well.

We never spent anywhere near that before (net spend that is) ...while in the Championship!

That was the point. We wont get anything like £12m+ to spend next season. If we got £5-6m then that would be more than ambitious, but probably still unlikely.

Anyone expecting us to get more than £10m for signings is bonkers.

We get a billion pounds in parachute money. We got a trillion pounds for promotion. We have a rich owner with pockets unscathed from investing last season.

I should bloody hope we spend at least 10m.

- Left back
- Centre back
- Attacking Mid
- Striker
+ replace anybody we lose

If you put off house maintenance for a year, expect it to cost ya double next year.

Absolutely. Totally agree.

Talk of spending just five million pounds is an absolute insult to the fans.

massive lol at all that

the parachutes are there to soften the blow of all your infinitely larger lost revenue.tbf
and you dont need to replace everyone you lose. squad sizes are always a bit smaller in the chamionship

10 million would be mental. possible but mental.

we'll need two strikers if pog goes, and the AM weve been after since sig left, but they are in high demand and hard to find
i wouldnt bother with a CB if pearce goes, id just keep gorkss as back up to mapps and worro
we dont really need a left back imo
