If Wolves go down, think we should make a cheeky punt to add Mr Doyle back into the ranks.

Very true, but he has stated a few times he will never go back to a club he's already played for

Unless the money changes his mind, of course!

Should have made a serious attempt to sign him last summer.

If Kevin Doyle is not crocked -get him back.

The Kevin Doyle we had could score goals, hold it up and beat players (in the box)- if he has still got it-he is a far better player than Rhodes-and for me the best player we ever had (at the Madstad).

Kevin Doyle is a step backwards. He certainly wouldn't have helped this year, he only plays well in a team performing well. Resigning him would not be a good move in my view. I don't really want to see a hero come back and fail.

Indeed. He's a good striker but there's a reason he's playing in the Championship and has not played for any clubs above the standard of Premier League strugglers.

He was great for us in his first two seasons, unfortunately he was a different player after suffering his hamstring injury away at Everton.

His best years are well behind him. We were lucky to have him during them, but a move for him now would be pointless.

Irrelevant discussion.

Adkins represents a break from the past and his signings in the summer will reflect this.

Doyle is probably right in what he has said previously. Whenever has 'going back' - either for player or club - ever worked?

Doyle was the hero of an era which has ended. He'll always get a great reception if he plays here, and I think he's still good enough to play for us, but I respect that fact he doesn't want to come back and ruin the memories.
