Danny Fox- one of the first positions we need to fill next season is left Back. Fox is second choice at Southampton to Luke Shaw and could come to us through the Adkins connection.

Wilson Palacios - Premier league experience and would be an ideal replacement for leigertwood. hes not currently playing regularly for stoke this might give him the motivation to sign for us.

Robbie Brady Ex Man U player. From what i remember he destroyed Cummings when he played left wing against us last season, Has got 12 assists and 3 goals in 16 appearances for Hull. replacement for Mcanuff. only 21.

Harry Forrester Having watched him a couple of times this season I can truly say I would be excited if we sign him. He can play just behind the striker, hes quick, skillful and shows class even against Chelsea this season in their cup game.

Paddy Madden - Top Goal scorer in league 1, Young and upcoming and with our history of signing young Irish players might be worth a punt!

Like the sound of that - and if we're doing a League One raid then Luke Murphy and Alan Judge should be considered too.

RockheadRumple
DOYLERSAROYALER Austin, Bridcutt, Boyd and Murray

I think Bridcutt and Boyd are players we should have signed in January. They'd be great additions for next year, as would Austin and Murray, but they all come from pretty high-up championship clubs already and Hull are probably going up, so Boyd will stay there. I doubt any of them would come, except maybe Austin. I'd rather stick with Alfie, though.

It's hard to speculate at the moment, but one I'd say is maybe Jose Fonte for about 5m. Currently 4th choice at Southampton, I think, behind Hooiveld, Maya and Forren.

The same Fonte who was regularly outperformed by Pearce and Gorkss for most of last season? He'd be a solid Championship CB (we already have Morrison and Mariappa though) but £5M is crazy

Nah, he was oxf*rd useless. Rather get Baseya back.

In seriousness if we were looking at lower league punts (not pcunts) we could do a lot worse than Harry Forrester and Harry Maguire.

...and if we are looking to use the loan market, the likes of Thomas Eisfeld, Tom Carroll and Nick Powell appear exciting prospects. Any chance of a cheeky season long on one of them?

We could also do a lot better than Forrester too. He's like a white Kebe - brilliant when he tries, but a frustrating oxf*rd when he doesnt.

Danny Fox and Billy Sharp will be good starting points.

Sharp yes, but Fox is largely deemed a disappointment at Southampton. I'd only consider him if he came in as back-up to a first choice new left-back

Edit that. Fox decent in Champ, awful in PL. Decent passer of the ball.

'Awful' in the prem? That's why Pochettino picks him over Shaw with some regularity huh?

Saints fans aren't fond of him because Shaw is their new golden boy and they see Fox as his competition.

Fox is a brilliant Championship left back. To be fair to Divvy and Jay o/, they've never watched Championship football.

Benitez is a good player and has an astonishing goal scoring record. But I don't think he'd be right for us and might struggle to get a work permit

Unlike most of you kiddies I've endured 4th division football right up to the Premier League, and if we found ourselves back in the basement, I too would still be there, unlike the majority of those same kiddies.
