sandman There have been managers of that club in past who would've put their responsibility to Liverpool ahead of any feeling towards an individual player. They understood that the club they helped build was far more important than massaging ego's of people like Suarez.

You seem to have forgotten that Liverpool want to keep Suarez.

Sanguine You should be proud of your sarcasm. It is positively dripping from that post.

For a start, Rodgers hasn’t defended Suarez’s actions, you’ve made that up.

Rodgers comments, in order – compare Suarez’s punishment to those received for similar incidents, then condemn his actions, and then talk about what the player means to the club and the club to the player. Yes, on it’s own “he hasn’t let me down at all” doesn’t really scan, he evidently has, but on the whole Rodger’s comments are exactly what I’d expect from a club that wants to hold on to its best player.

Unless you think this is a sacking offence, I’m not sure how you can disagree.

I can see exactly what he was trying to do, he's just not executed it well.

The whole thing is now going to be dragged out gleefully by the press. They had the opportunity to nip it in the bud and Rodgers blew it spectacularly. That's what I mean by losing his head.

It's a shame as I have to say I thought LFC and Rodgers handled the immediate post match communications very well.

Sanguine Suarez is guilty of course, but a stat from the LFC forums which made me .

The FA has completed 473 disciplinary hearings this season, and found the player guilty on 471 occasions.

Might be behind Liverpool's decision not to appeal even only the length of the ban.

Presumably with 15,000 cameras at every match it's difficult for clubs to argue against most actions taken.

It's baffling that players seem to think they can get away with some off the ball shenanigans at a Premiership match. The Suarez incident is 10 yards off the ball yet it was captured by 6-7 seperate cameras.

You're baffled that many footballers appear to be thick idiots?

Not sure if it's already been posted, but this just consolidates the ten match ban;

Nice bit of eye gouging at the end there....

Brendan Rodgers If I had more players of a similar mentality we would be in a different position. He has not let me down one bit.

I actually didn't need any more reasons to believe he's a detestable little Cnut but there you have it.

Lets hope that English football has seen the last of him.
And that Liverpool ends up in the bottom half next season before sacking Rogers.
And that Rogers has to take a job coaching the Cambodian national team reserves.

Lucky for Newcastle that Suarez wasn't playing, or it could have been ate.

I had gathered. What's worrying is the number of times he deliberately goes in with the studs then reacts as if he has been shot. Someone please remind me to show the Mrs that link. Her reaction would be interesting to see.

As for the number of disciplinary hearings going against the appellant, no surprise there then. The sooner the FA review all games and mete out punishments retrospectively, the better. The same with overturning red and yellow cards issued on the day to make for a more level playing field. Would be nice but can't see it happening.

Lastly, what punishment would Suarez have got had it been a Sunday morning pub game? More than a 10 game ban, that's for sure.

That was my beef a few weeks ago when these vids 1st came to my attention.

Thing is, he is absolutely brilliant at doing it. There's no doubt in my mind that he's doing it deliberately - just extending a stride slightly to scrape / stamp and then going down himself as if it was just a collision - until you see it in slow motion you just wouldn't know what he's done.

He is a dangerous person to have on a football pitch.
