Stuka I realise it can't go to Europe but if called upon England could host a world cup tomorrow.

Agreed though would prefer it to be Britain to share it a little with Wales & Scotland.

If Northern Ireland can join in too then IN for a UK World Cup

Nah, they can oxf*rd off as far as I'm concerned

It should go to Europe though. It's ludicrous at the moment. Every other word cup should happen in this continent, with us getting it every four times at the most.

98 - France
06 - Germany
18 - Russia
26 - set up for Europe

They've missed one, for Brasil. Awful.

Absolutely agree, I think there's a few European countries that could, I just don't think they'd pick them.

They missed one for Qatar: 22 should have been Europe and should have been England

Those on the fringes of all the corruption are starting to be found out ....

Money paid be Australia for a "stadium upgrade" in the Caribbean has vanished .....http://sportsbusinessinsider.com.au/news/sport/football/ffa-pays-462200-for-stadium-upgrade-in-the-caribbean/ (Quite astounding reading!)

Jack Warner under FBI investigation and stripped of his official post : http://www.jamaicaobserver.com/news/T-T-PM-mum-on-Jack-Warner-FBI-probe

FIFA delegates in Asia have been reminded of their obligations : http://www.insideworldfootball.com/world-football/asia/12375-exclusive-leaked-letter-warns-afc-members-against-accepting-bribes?acm=6835_485

Thanks for posting those links Alexander Litvinenko .

Qatar 2022 really did bring home how dodgy international football is.

I liked this quote
Jack Warner is Minister for National Security in Trinidad and Tobago. The police and the fraud squad answer to him.

How about trying something along the lines of Euro 2020, where the World Cup is held in say sixteen world cities. These could be:

Europe
London (gets the final, natch)
Paris
Rome
Moscow
Madrid

North America
New York
Mexico City

South America
Sao Paulo
Buenos Aires

Oceania
Sydney

Asia
Tokyo
Seoul
Beijing
Doha (to throw a scrap of meat to Qatar)

Africa
Johannesburg

Every continent represented in that list. Something of a logistical nightmare, perhaps, but I'm sure by 2022 people will be able to somehow figure it out.

Only a matter of time before Australia gets a world cup. I thought South Africa was a perfect host country. Meant so much to the nation and regardless of the quality of the football, the games had such character. Brazil will be similar. I doubt we'll say the same after Russia and Qatar. Personally I advocate either USA or Oz getting the 2022. In the future I'd like to see Indonesia and Canada get a crack, maybe a North African country.

No chance. They don't have the political clout to make people think its worth their while voting for them.

Always think the time difference to Europe and North/South America will play against them.

The east coast is only 1 hour ahead of Japan in the summer, and that was OK. Adelaide is only 1/2 an hour ahead of Japan, while Perth is an hour behind.

I can see it going to China in 2026.

Was always going to happen

What will happen if the European leagues refuse to have a break? Or if all the players are suddenly too 'injured' to join their national squads?
