oldebiscuit Out for West Ham. In for Fulham.
But FFS ditch the inflatables. It says everything that is wrong with the modern day football fan. Inflatables are equivalent to jesters Hats, Rumble Sticks and Face Paint. If you like all that shit then you should go to your local Summer Fete.

Wipped Probably go along to support Brentford against the Swine in the play-offs. Got a soft spot for Brentford, and I'm not interested in voluntary ticket rape at a club like West Ham.oldebiscuit Out for West Ham. In for Fulham.

What a load of rubbish. It's a final away days bit of fun and tradition now. It's nothing like jester hats and clappers.

Absolutely! You must NEVER go to a football match and have fun!

No you go to watch the football on the pitch. So u don't want some twats in front of u with a dopey great hats on and rumble sticks getting in the way of the football action.
We're not toddlers you know - even if our football appears so.

Caskeys Lovechild If you go to football, to watch the football on the pitch, you are, this season at least.
a) A manic depressive.
b) VERY lonely.
Football is not about the actual game - it's about the friendships, bonds, and experiences of being a supporter. That stretches to everything, from the journey to away games and back, to the consumption of beverages, good food, in interesting places, to celebrating the wins, to celebrating the losses. This in my eyes, defines being a supporter. The actual football, is about 5% of the overall experience. Random inflatables day, is a celebration of the last away game of the season, and is fun. Try it - you might even find that you end up enjoying it more than the dross being served up on the pitch - at that point, football attendance will make more sense to you.

Wipped I've come home to see Reading fans calling for a boycott of West Ham away. Apparently it's £49 a ticket? Arsenal cost me £25!!
Sound like they're calling for fans to make Fulham away our last away day and do the end of season Inflatables Day there instead, and ditch West Ham on the final day.
Over-reaction, or are you in?
I'm not giving West Ham £49. My money will be better spent in town!

Out.

Vic_Flange Tossers.
They are getting everyone to try and pay for their new ground.
Which every taxpayer has paid for anyway; and will pay for again (ie thru their tax).
Out.
royalsteve saw the price earlier, total joke - 49.00 to watch us play against hoofball - what a laugh - hope they get relegated next season
2 world wars, 1 world cup And thus west ham have the desired effect. Less away fans for the same income as if the seats were half price and double the people showed up.
Crafty.
God I hate West Ham more and more every year, the most despicable bastards in English football by a mile. In every way.
scumbag Nothing game against a nothing club should cost nothing.

The Real Sandhurst Royal Not sure how West Ham can justify £49?
They must think they are a big club because their ticket price is.
soggy biscuit We seriously charged West Ham fans £40 to come to our place??
LOL @ this thread if true
Winchester RoyalNo Fixed Abode Out of interest, what did Reading charge West Ham this season?
Wasn't it £40?
We used to be a club with decent ticket prices, usually less for a home game than we were charged for the reverse fixture...
royalZILLAAA Not really sure what would tempt people to go. If it was coordinated so that the players knew(/thought) it was a statement about rip-off ticket prices, as opposed to forsaking them as players, then there's NO good reason to throw away good money in order to be berated by a bunch of cockney twats whether we win or lose.
Royal Lady Had already decided weeks ago I wasn't going, due to the aforementioned £49 rip off. Barring a miracle, we'll be relegated - we might win or draw but it won't really MEAN anything so I'll use the £49 on some booze or something I reckon, instead.
Brig106 I don’t think anyone would be mentioning a boycott if we had a chance of staying up. Frankly this seems more like a convenient excuse to not have to go and suffer the crap that will undoubtedly be dished out by West Ham fans. I shall not ‘boycott’ the game because of the ticket price, but unless by some miracle we do have a chance of staying up, I will not be going to the game.
Royalclapper I bet if we were 6th in the league and they were going down there wouldn't be a boycott.
£49 is ridiculous though, Cat A match status seems a bit OTT as well but I guess it's because of it being the last game of the season.

I_<3_Mcdermott Seems like Reading fans fall into 5 distinct categories:
Category 1: The horribly bitter ones.Vic_Flange Tossers.

Simple explanation: West Ham (along with every club in the league) charge away fans the same as their home fans. We've sold out every game since October with similar ticket prices. The board know fans pay those prices, so why would they suddenly start charging less?
Category 2: The misguided/deluded ones.scumbag Nothing game against a nothing club should cost nothing.
OUTThe Real Sandhurst Royal Not sure how West Ham can justify £49?
They must think they are a big club because their ticket price is.
Simple Explanation: Sorry to break it to you guys, but West Ham are a far bigger club than Reading. That's a fact. Again, if West Ham get 35,000 fans to every home game charging those sorts of prices, then the prices won't suddenly drop just to suit you guys who don't have anything to play for. The reason your board charge less for your tickets is because even when they do, you still don't sell out (e.g. see Sky Channel 401 right now)
Category 3: The ones who realise the irony:soggy biscuit We seriously charged West Ham fans £40 to come to our place??

We used to be a club with decent ticket prices, usually less for a home game than we were charged for the reverse fixture...
Simple Explanation: Football has been commercialised; its a business after all. All clubs (especially those in the South) charge high ticket prices. The business laws of supply and demand explain West Ham's ticket prices. Once the capacity increases to 55,000, supply will overhaul demand, and ticket prices will fall.
Category 4: The ones who are man enough to admit the reason why they won't be goingroyalZILLAAA Not really sure what would tempt people to go. If it was coordinated so that the players knew(/thought) it was a statement about rip-off ticket prices, as opposed to forsaking them as players, then there's NO good reason to throw away good money in order to be berated by a bunch of cockney twats whether we win or lose.Royal Lady Had already decided weeks ago I wasn't going, due to the aforementioned £49 rip off. Simple Explanation: The Prem probably hasn't seen a side as bad as Reading since Derby graced the top flight. Reading won the Championship fair and square last season, and went on an incredible run of games to pip Southampton to the title. However, the difference in size of the clubs meant that West Ham and Southampton were able to genuinely improve their side, while Reading didn't.
West Ham have had an awful record of late against Reading, and with the amount of stick West Ham fans have received from Reading fans recently, there's nothing West Ham fans want more than to beat Reading on the final day, and rub salt into the wounds. In fact, you'll probably find plenty of West Ham fans wanting Reading to win today, and next week, so they can win on the final day, and ensure its West Ham that seal Reading's fate. There's absolutely no shame in not wanting to come to the final game at Upton Park, it's just a bit embarrassing to see all these excuses.
Category 5: The knowledgeable onesRoyalclapper I bet if we were 6th in the league and they were going down there wouldn't be a boycott.

I think you'd find that this is 100% correct. Two years ago on the final, West Ham, bottom of the league, needing to win, and hoping other results went in their favour, sold out a 5,000 allocation on a 450 mile round journey to Wigan.
