Which suggests he'd be staying on next season. Presume he's received bad news about the injury.

He was told a few months ago he may need a hip replacement. It sounds like he is doing his utmost to prove that wrong and get back fit, but I strongly doubt we will see him play football again; certainly not here and very likely not next season.

Surely nobody is going to be daft enough to give him a contract next season are they? Potentially a pay as you play deal for someone who's a bit desperate, but even then they're going to be giving a place in their squad and allocating some of their budget on a big gamble.

As for the racism stuff, I think the issue is over played and ethnic representation in the game is largely as it should be, apart from the massive over representation amongst the number of highly paid players that is.

The fa is a disgrace, Clarke Carlisle goes on to countdown and picks out a few seven letter words. All of a sudden he's given a job with them. He and Jason Roberts are the only players that sky seem to go to when racism pops up its ugly head and to tell you the truth they are both utter hypocrites. The picture of Roberts in this article says it all when he is standing smiling and posing with a black guy that has just vocally with a microphone mentioned the n word numerous times. But when Suarez did it he wanted him hung from the gallows. I am far from a racist but I just find these double standards a bit pathetic.
