Just seen the away kit. All I can say is 'sash'.

JayRoyal needs to design our actual kits. That would be the absolute best kit we've had... and it's so straightforward! Why do we keep getting all these ridiculous features?!

Cynic in me says it's to make every iteration different enough to warrant a new purchase.

Because its Puma, everyone gets ridiculous features! :P

Also, NFA, if you've seen the away kit you could provide some other information in here too

If what you are saying is right, no Puma templates this year have a sash...

Jay your hooped sleeved Nike one is the dog's bollocks.

It will sadly never get used because the club and shirt makers never choose anything sensible.

Maybe, maybe not. I forwarded Jay's Galatasaray shirt to the club and they loved it, but said next seasons shirts are already in place but they will keep it in mind. If I was Jay I would get in touch with the club by email, phone, turn up at the stadium with a portfolio of shirts and his other work, and see if they will spare 20 minutes to talk to him. They already like his work, so go for it!

The problem is I am not sure how much input the club has. It's probable that Puma (or whoever) come to club with a handful of possible designs and the club make a choice. If Jay did want to do this as a career, he needs an in with the shirt company themselves. I could be wrong of course!

Agree that is probably the case. I would assume the club some say regarding plain arms/sleeves, making the kit overly blue (like this seasons), the annoyingly chopping and changing of blue shorts and socks one year and white the next...

Just make a nicely balanced blue and white hooped shirt, with hoops on the arms/sleeves as well. White shorts preferably and blue and white hooped socks. That would be bloody marvelous. None of these templates with silly patterns on, and bold streaks of red.

The club can surely dictate what they expect from the supplier, and it seems looking at the last several kits here that the club/person that approves the kits lacks imagination and perhaps knowledge of what a Reading kit should be, or certainly the basics of such.

Get in touch with them, Jay. See if the person who works with the kit makers would be interested in a short meeting. He may or may not like your work, but at the vest least he may keep in touch with you for when the kit selections are made and use your ideas along with the templates he/she is provided, and see what you can both come up with.

There is a separate thread for this mate.

Also, if you have seen the away kit why don't you tell us who has made it etc.

If this is true, it could be Errea. Based purely on Blackpool's 13/14 kit

Not sure what I would think of that really, if it was them and they kept the home kit fairly simple (they don't seem to mess about too much with dodgy panels/sailor collars/pencil-drawing-effect details), then they might actually give us some to smile about.

Provided it has a collar, obvs.

Bought my girlfriend a Villa shirt cause she supports em, also picked one up for myself too since they were 7 quid...

I thought they would be naff cause they're macron, they're actually really well made, I'd totally take Macron over Puma, massive difference.

I'm just glad she doesn't support QPR.

Anyway, she has the Reading home shirt so I owed her one. :P

JayRoyal Whipped up a few designs with that terrible Puma template:

1 - 2
3 - 4

How do you do that?
