URZZZZ It's one win. Amazed at how much people are excited.

The win is irrelevant, its the clear progression in performance

If people don't wish to see others react to "just one match", don't go on a oxf*rd Match Thread.

For all the zip and pizazz i think we're a way short of even sighting a sparrow. I was really pleased with allot of today, and in particular the reinvigorated Jem, but it doesn't cancel out anything that's gone before it. The hard work is still to come, we need signings if we're to compete next season but, if today does anything else, it signals to me that NA is the man for the job.

We had more possession than usual.
We had more completed passes than usual.
We had more shots on target than usual.
And we scored 4 more goals than usual.

That is, I would argue, cause for some cautious optimism.

Progression in performance has been noted for the last 4/5 games. Next step is bringing the right players that can take it even further.

Reading winning when it's too late?
Why is that point invalid?

The way our season's gone I would say it's cause to get completely drunk and run around your neighbourhood with your pants on your head.

Your comment that Fulham were already on the beach is invalid. Suggesting that we beat Fulham because they had little to play for when in fact we also had little to play for.

MR. CYNICAL Trust you lot getting all excited by that.
You fail to realise that Fulham were already on the beach, typical Reading to start winning when it's too late!

Fuck you

We played well and won a game (something I am not used to seeing or saying anymore). There is some harm in enjoying it? I wanted this team and NA to get one more win before the end of the season and they did. Good for them even if it doesn't mean much in the big scheme of things. Live in the moment people, be happy when life gives you something to smile about.

Barry the bird boggler Yes let's all get carried away with how wonderful we're going to be next season and how today proves we don't need any signings in the summer

Apparently we're not allowed to judge one game on its own, even in the specific Match Thread  :?

Piss Off,
we played very well and won an away game in the PL which is not very easy. So I think we have a right to get exited even if it was against a lacklustre Fulham

Ian Royal What a performance. Shame about the fragile defence, but we never waivered, we never doubted and we did the job. You can say Fulham could have had a hatful, but we could also have had a hatful more. And we did it playing great football. I am absolutely delighted and gutted I didn't bother getting a ticket. Hope the ones who went enjoyed that as much as I did.

More stats for Zac.

Fulham 49% - 51% Reading
Passing
Fulham 79% - 82% Reading

The promises are being delivered! :D :D :D :D :D :D

Belated mental scenes on the right side of the stand. Started out accidentally in the neutral end. 1-0. No reaction from anyone so moved.

Even though too little too late, got to be happy with the performance. There has certainly been improvement under Adkins but still a lot of work to do. That was the first league game this season we have been clearly the better team although defensively we were frail again and this needs addressing over the summer.

Nice to hear someone actually played HIs Royal Kanu-ness to his strengths in a more central role today instead of making him struggle more out on the wings
