MmmMonsterMunch I voted McAnuff. Absolute no brainer IMO but hey what do I know?

Great great captain & I hope he keeps it next season.

Have you been here at all this season?? Least inspiring captain in the division, shows no where near as much passion as Jem and Mapps. He has had his good games and good spells but no where near the consistency that mapps has shown.

Yes thanks. People see what they want to see I guess. He has worked his ass off week in week out & provided quality on the ball that we've not seen from many others. He's got a decent amount of assists & put up with a lot of unfair abuse. Just because he isn't a mouthy bruiser with vocal 'passion' doesn't make him a bad captain.

The defence has on the whole been a shambles this season so my vote can't go to a defender but I do agree with you in that I like Mariappa & he has potential.

I voted Bryn.

Mariappa - solid but unspectacular and too poor in the air.
McAnuff - can't fault his effort but he can't make a decision to save his life and is too often invisible. Would love him to get it though, to feel appreciated.
HRK - Good recently but not the best player this season. Best player when we're 3-0 down.
ALF - Ineffectual when starting, was good for one month.

I maintain that if Feds, McCarthy, Tabb, Kebe or Shorey had played every game to the standard they've played so far then they'd walk it. Kebe has been our best player eaily but hasn't played enough games.

In no particular order, Hal Robson-Kanu, Alex McCarthy and Adam Le Fondre are the players who have been voted in the top three.
Mariappa hard done by. Federici too to be fair if McCarthy is in there.

I'm not sure they're the right three at all. No consistency from any of them really, I guess they've all been picked for the flashes of brilliance they've shown. McCarthy - ok, he's been injured so that doesnt count, but does he deserve an award after only playing a handful of games?

Not sure it'd be my 3 but it's hardly surprising.

HRK has the most Prem goals from midfield of a Reading player ever. ALF has the most Prem goals as a sub (ever?). McCarthy has been grabbing the headlines in recent weeks and looks to be the only player likely to be poached by a big club.

You're the monger if you can't see why these 3 might be popular.

i can see people liking them, and thinking they have done well. but none of them are anywhere near even being elligible in my mind.

a keeper who hardly played, a winger who hardly played and a striker who hardly played

Amazing. They've started 11 games each all season. Shows you how shit the rest of the team are

Just think about that for one moment

Our player of the season has started 11 games

What the f*ck was McDermott doing with his team selections?

Le Fondre is a worthy contender, HRK has been immense in recent weeks and we all know how good McCarthy is, BUT the first two have been inconsistent and McCarthy missed a hell of a lot of the season.

Hope Alfie gets it now but shocked as I thought Jobi would walk it this year.

Or, if you look at it from another perspective;

our fans are stupid enough to think a player who has hardly started this season is the player of the season rather than one who started every game?

Let's face it, UKIP got votes last week. That could indicate how undemanding the average UK voter is.

I agree that McAnuff would have been a worthy contender, but if you spent any time around the majority of our fanbase you'd have realised that there was more chance of Kes getting the United job than Jobi winning POTS.
