No. Whether you think the criticism of McAnuff is unwarranted or not, it is pointless pretending that it is "a minority of morons". Having been to almost every home game this season I am confident that the vast majority of people where I sit do not rate McAnuff. There is no reason not to assume that the opinions of the area I sit in are an accurate representation of the ground in general.

u sit in y25/26?

where i sit there are 2-3 vocal h8ers
and another handful who just go along with them.
everyone else thinks they are cockends

I don't sit in y25/y26.
Where I sit it is mainly mutterings, shakes of the head or people talking to those around them, occasionally shouts of abuse. It doesn't come from anyone in particular, if I asked the 50 or so people around me who they thought was most responsible for relegation I'm fairly confident Leigertwood and McAnuff would win by a mile; they are not popular at all.

Once again, calling people idiots or a minority of morons is not really a substantial argument, perhaps they have rational opinions that are just different to yours.

I was genuinely surprised at the short list. Much as HRK and McCarthy have been great, I really don't think they have played enough games to justify inclusion.

I would have expected ALF, McAnuff and Mariappa to be the final 3 and McAnuff to win it but he did not even make the final 3. Harsh that so many don't rate him when he puts in a shift every week - which is why he got my vote.

RK looks the best all round player and most likely to do the business next season
McCarthy saved numerous goals helping our goals against record
Alf scored our most goals helping our goals for record

HRK has had probably his best season yet, 7 goals for a winger isn't horrific for a mid-table Prem side let alone us. Would have put him just outside the top 3.
Le Fondre just for the goals that would have otherwise meant we wouldn't have got anywhere near 20 points. Obvious due to popularity with the crowd he was going to be top 3.
McCarthy because he has provided us with one of the positives we can take from this season. He's managed to get a bit of positive publicity for us with people saying the Liverpool game was the best performance by a keeper for a long time. Hasn't had enough games to warrant POTS, maybe "Player of the month". Once again he is another crowd favourite.

Surprised anybody really gives a monkey who wins it this year to be honest.

The 'winner' will hardly wear the award as a badge of honour. Though with the 3 candidates concerned I am sure they will see it as an opportunity to raise their transfer stock.

That being said, I'm glad the majority of fans have seen sense and not voted the very very average Mariappa anywhere near it.

Fairly simple to see why those three have been nominated.
-McCarthy was unbelievable in the game where voting was opened
-The deadline was extended after the Fulham game and was highly publicised, and as HRK was MOTM lots of people would have been tempted to vote for him
-ALF is ridiculously popular with the younger fans, and probably deserves to be in the list because of January

The fickle have spoken.

Not sure it'd be my 3 but it's hardly surprising.

HRK has the most Prem goals from midfield of a Reading player ever. ALF has the most Prem goals as a sub (ever?). McCarthy has been grabbing the headlines in recent weeks and looks to be the only player likely to be poached by a big club.

You're the monger if you can't see why these 3 might be popular.

Apart from Harper. And Stephen Hunt.

Apologies, I mean the most in one season, same for ALF. I thought that was fairly obvious. Of course this is misleading as HRK has played further forward Harper and Hunt in some matches.

Ok. It's not exactly much of an achievement given we've only had three Premier League seasons ever.
