Tiam Scholes for me....

Scored 150 ish for united - if he had the regular penalty taker for United he would probably got close to 200 as well.

Good point tbf, although if Scholes was a better penalty taker then perhaps he would have got the honour.

Both cracking players, whatever way you look at it.

Barry the bird boggler
No Fixed Abode Frank has scored double figures in the last TEN Premier League seasons. Unbelievable.

And what is it without penalties included?

Lampard's role in the team is to get goals. He's on free kicks and pens and there hasn't been a huge amount of talent for him to share the goals with.

Scholes plays a much deeper role for United and dictates the play. With Becks on free kicks, RVN taking pens he was always going to score less. Then you've got the long list of Hughes, Cantona, Cole, York, Sheringham, OGS, Ruud, Rooney, RVP, Ronaldo etc who have all shared the goals.

Lampard has chummed up with Drogba, Jimmy Floyd and Zola and that's about it.

So Lampard did it while playing with worse players, that makes it even more impressive. To be honest you can't really narrow it down to one, a better question is what would be the best ever midfield in Prem history, then you would have scholes, lamps and keane/viera in there.

Agreed with the bit in bold. Scholes lucky to play for a truly great side, hence why Lampard has more INDIVIDUAL honours than Scholes.

Whoever it was who said about Scholes - has he ever taken a penalty in his career? Can't remember him even doing so for England in penalty shoot outs but suggests to me he is a bottler!

Missed a pen in the CL final against Chelsea.

Scholes is a better player than Frank.

David May has won 2 PL titles, does that mean he's a better defender than Vincent Kompany?

He is the one standard clause that should always be inserted into any conversation where people argue over who is better than who based on trophies.

It does if you follow Kes' logic regarding how successful RDM was as a manager compared to SAF
