WoodleyRoyal I have been hearing this "Build, Evolve, Succeed" mission statement from the club in various articles recently, reminds me of the Pardew era "Tenacity Spirit and Flair". Is this an Adkins thing? Or was it around before him? These sorts of things in football really annoy me, it’s the whole corporate cock sucking, bullshit bingo drivel, which i get spoon fed at work on a daily basis. Really don’t need it from my football club to be honest. I go to football to get away from such nonsense. How does this shit come about at a football club anyway, do they have think tanks with spider graphs? Do they honestly think by having some quirky message attached to everything more fans are going to go?

SPARTA Most clubs have these types of motto. Quite why some are getting their knickers in a twist I don't know.

BraisingsteakRoyal Unless you play for the club, it doesn't affect you.
It's a mission statement, the sort of thing that is on noticeboards and the like in places like the Academy rooms at the Dome and Hogwood. It's meant as a simple message to the players.
For the record, there were (still are) exactly the same types of messages plastered all over the training facilities from the Brian era, e.g :
"Control - In posession"
"Reaction - Transition"
"Organisation - Out of possession"
and:
"Brilliantly technical players who work tremendously hard"
This is not new. Get over it.

Royalwaster I tested this out with my youth team recently.
For 4 weeks I put up a sign in dressing room that said: 'Even if you lose, don't forget to smile'
For 4 weeks after that I replaced it with another sign: 'Tenacity, spirit and flair'
Results in first 4 weeks: 0:6, 0:3, 1:8, 1:6
Results in next 4 weeks: 0:1, 1:1, 2:1, 3:0
Proven.

kwik-silva Your youth team has a dressing room? What's wrong with the side of the pitch?

Could hardly hang the signs on the trees or goal posts could I? Surely most clubs have some sort of clubhouse .... at least the league we play in. Maybe we're posh?
