creative_username_1 err.....the most successful EPL club in the last 20 years had Scholes in the side

Again, thanks for backing up my point. He's played in the most successful Premier League club (HATE the phrase 'EPL', are you American?) over the last 20 years, hence he's got the titles - but where are the individual honours? Why has Lampard been in more PFA Teams of the season? (As voted for by players who play them week in, week out - I thought all the players love Scholes judging by the quotes that get rehashed about him...?)

But the world player of the year is a load of crap cos its always people who score goals that wins them ........bar Cannavaro in 2006, its never a player who doesn't score goals/isn't always in the news

Unfortunately you can't separate the two. You're using an Adrian Durham line of argument.

This is a fcuking pointless argument btw. One maybe slightly better than the other in certain areas in a certain set up.

Scholes > Lampard >>>>Gerrard IMO. Depends what you want

Just moved back from the st8's last year. Added the EPL on an edit to avoid someone coming back with a European club. EPL was the minimum i could type

Big Foot They're both about Frank Lampard, m8.

It's also about Keane, Vieira, Scholes and Gerrard etc.

I assumed from the title that it's about Scholes. No one else comes close.

PFA...voted for players...who presumably are playing games at the same time as Lampard and therefore don't get a chance to watch him and vote him in because he scored a few tap ins at 4-0 up.

There is so much more to Scholes' game. If Zidane, Guardiola and Henry think so - the best in their field - who know far more about football than your standard fan rate Scholes higher then that's good enough for me.

Interesting that you choose Henry - someone that Lampard could soon overtake in terms of goalscoring in the PL 8) 8)

These are players who are playing up against Lampard etc week in, week out - not people who play them once every other year in high profile games.

Michel Platini arguably knows more about football than you or I - but he's a helmet.

No one plays Lampard week in week out, they play him twice a season, and even then they're not focusing on him. Platini being a helmet is irrelevant, although he does seem to hate the English game and I don't see why you brought that up.

Between Keane and Vieira for me, no question. Both were the heartbeat of the 2 best premiership teams I've ever seen.

Scholes first, Keane second, Vierra third.

Just goes to show how subjective al of this is. Schools probably loses out to Fat Fwank's supporters possibly because Scholes is so low profile off the pitch. Will Lampard play on for as long as Scholes? I doubt it.

Personally I think Denis Bergkamp was the best.

Then Zola, then Scholes.

Bergkamp cant really be classed as midfielder though - he was in the number 10 role which is more a forward

I'm no Lampard lover, but why do people other than WH fans insist on calling him Fat Frank, as if they're at the cutting edge of humour?

erm Bergkamp isn't a striker.

As far as Scholes goes what puts me off him is his sh*t tackling ability and red cards he dodged.

According to Wiki

Originally a wide midfielder, he was moved to main striker and then to second striker, where he remained throughout his playing career. Bergkamp has been described by Jan Mulder as having "the finest technique" of any Dutch international[2] and a "dream for a striker" by teammate Thierry Henry.[3]

Lol - Scholes retired from international football at 29.

I understand the initial logic used by Big Foot but I'd seek the opinion of players with the quality and knowledge of the game like Xaxi and Blanc than the likes of Joey Barton and Titus BrambLOLe.
