I was questioning that on pages 1-2, but got castrated for it. Guess I was right after all.

And, like I said on pages 1-2, if you had paid £50+ to watch what Adkins was treating as a friendly by not putting out his strongest side I'd be pissed off. What a c*nt. Glad I didn't go

It was his strongest side, except for Mariappa, who we need to be 100% fit at the start of next season and given he's playing international football all summer it was obviously decided that 90 minutes of battling Andy Carroll wasn't going to achieve that.

Overall I thought we played some nice stuff in spells (particularly first 30 minutes of the second half) but struggled whenever they tried to really impose themselves physically on us. We probably need to find ourselves a Schneiderlin to stick in midfield for next season.

McCleary and Gunter my MOTM's, with a special mention to Nick Blackman who I think will come good next season.

If this was an audition for the 2013-2014 season I think Gorkss failed the test. I am fairly certain that NA plans on a quick return to the PL and Gorkss did nothing to show that he is up to the level of competition. He was huge for us in our promotion year but I have a feeling his time with the club just ended...
