What exactly is the 5% they have to be blamed for? There is no way they could of seen how packed the middle bits were when walking into the tunnel and the second they knew it there wasn't any way they'd be able to fight against the tide.

Turning up late? Police could of delayed kick off. Policemen themselves say there was fewer police OUTSIDE the ground to manage the build up on the turnstiles. Is that their fault? Or the roadworks causing fans to be delayed? Is that their 5% of blame?

Breaking news. Fred West and Harold Shipman exonerated of all charges of murder. Police's fault for not putting measures in place.

Fascinating viewing last night. Perhaps I'm being dense - but Panorama revealed "previously unseen" footage, doesn't that incriminate the BBC as part of the cover up?

No. When they say "unseen" they mean "never previously broadcast or publicly available." The BBC footage was handed over the WMP for the inquest, and from that point the BBC didn't have it any more. It was only released again last year once the HIP was concluded.

retro_royal No fans pushed at all remember. None tried to climb over walls to get in. None jade forged tickets. None had no tickets. None were drunk. None went to the wrong section on purpose as right behind the goal in the bottom tier wasn't the place to be. It was all the fault of the police.

Isn't it astonishing the luck that MUFC have had in never being afflicted by a disaster of this magnitude, given their deliberate penchant for mass jibbing - rushing turnstiles, climbing over walls, forging tickets, being drunk, sitting in emergency stairways...I thank the Lord for the kind way in which he cares for their innocent souls.

For those interested, here is an interesting article on the life and career of Norman Bettinson. Chief Inspector at Hillsborough, later chief constable of Merseyside & South Yorkshire. The chap responsible for much of the crap spewing from the keyboards of our little trolls.

Why did no one from the BBC speak out about their footage not matching what the original inquest's verdict was? IMO they're trying to look squeaky clean when in essence, they were part of the cover up.

Either way - documentaries on Hillsborough always fascinate me and get the mind boggling as to what the world we live in today would be like had things panned out differently that day.

Of course fans pushed as they were trying to get enough space to breathe because they did not want to die. Of course some had had a drink, it was a cup semi final and I doubt there has been an FA Cup semi final in history when nobody has had alcohol, but everyone who died was blood tested and only 2 were found to be above the drink drive limit which is about 2 pints. There may have been a small number of ticketless fans but each investigation have all said it is proven without doubt that this played no part in the tragedy. The tickets entitled you to go in any of the 4 pens behind the goal, those let in when the police opened up the gate just automatically filed down the tunnel to the central pens because it had a sign over it saying Leppings Lane terrace just like it said on their tickets. Normally this tunnel was closed off when the central pens were full but not on the day of the disaster. Some have asked me why it was so chaotic outside the gound twenty minutes before kick off. This was because most of the coaches arrived in good time but over half were held up by the police doing searches etc and only allowed off at about 2.30. The coach I was on was not and I got on the terrace about 2.20 and it was pretty full then.

It could have been us, but we would have held our hands up like Lille 2007. Loads turned up late, aggressive, drunk, jibbing etc. There was only a small entrance to the away end that was overwhelmed. Police could have opened another gate but instead they got their battons out and tier gassed us. A few got crushed, a few injured, a few passed out but afterwards we only blamed ourselves.

Photo of someone collapsed being carried out.

Majority who died were at the front and in the ground early, so wouldn't have been intoxicated. I suspect a large proportion of those late comers which caused the crush outside the stadium, were in the pub until the last minute.

Exactly. Its like saying someone killed by a drink driver was sober so the drunk driver mustnt have been drunk.

I thought trolling was deliberately trying to wind somebody up, not having a difference of opinion?

No they were kept on their coaches till 2.30 before having a 10 minute walk to the stadium and arriving at Leppings Lane were there was nowhere near enough turnstyles to cope. Read the H.I.P. findings instead of bumming RR.

@Kingofsting

So no fans arriving late travelled by other means, they all went by coach and didn't drink?
