Think Harte confirmed it himself last night, so would make sense.

End of eras etc.

Good luck to Hunty, he's been a great servant to the club and I am for one, sad to see him go.

9,269 Minutes 39 Goals + 24 Assists

A goal every 237 Minutes

An Assist or goal every 147 Minutes

That is not at all shabby especially when you think of all the other work he did

Maguire Pretty limited player IMHO but can't fault his effort and application. Best of luck to him.

What I will add is that he's been a really good ambassador for RFC. Always engaging the fans and getting involved in things - fair play to him.

Absolutely 100% agree with this. I think he epitomised everything Reading were under McDermott. Hard working, did the dirty things well and never gave up on anything and was part of a collective. Not saying Adkins doesn't want this but the football we will be playing wont really suit him.

Fantastic ambassador for the club and always had so much time for the fans. Thanks Noel and best of luck with anything

Best wishes to a likeable, hard worker.

You will not have to wait long to find a club willing to try you, Noel.

My favorite Noel memory is seeing him absolutely wreaked in Revs when he was out injured a few years back.

This. Almost every time the club or the EP printed a picture of Reading players at a charity event, school, hospital etc Noel would be there front and centre. He always came across as someone who realised just how privileged he was to be a footballer, and understood the off-the-field responsibilities that should go with that.

And we'll always, always have that second goal at West Ham.

Possibly a bit unfair, but he stood head and shoulders above his brother.

Good luck, Noel

I always thought the fusion of the two of them would have made one hell of a player.

Cheers for the effort Noel, always a hard worker.

Looks like NA is going for players with actual skill and technical ability over grafters now though which can only be a good thing. If he wanted to keep Noel, he would have done, which is quite exciting.

Not if you get rid of all the grafters it isn't. We don't want our team next season to be what Sir Steve might describe as all fur coat and no knickers.

I think the default presumption was to take the positive attributes from both players, not the negative.

I apologise for not making this clear enough specifically to you.

It's all been said really. I'll remember the exciting first half of the 2008-9 season when he really linked up well with Doyle.

See ya Hunty, we'll miss ya I reckon...

Top flight professional, always represented the team well, and always respected the shirt giving 110% every time he stepped on the pitch. It is sad to see him go but this is the end of an era and a beginning of a new one.

Best of luck Noel! Will always be pulling for you to do well no matter where you end up!

Always liked Hunt as he sits in that category of player who appears to have made it through sheer hard work rather than natural talent, something to be admired much more than talent over work rate I think
