According to the above piece on the RFC OS, we are offering a new contract to Stuart Taylor. This would suggest that one of Feds or McCarthy is definitely off this summer - presumably Feds, as McCarthy seems to be Adkins No. 1

Andersen has said several times that he needs first team football (and he does at his age) and so will almost certainly go this summer - cannot see him here as number 3.

I think Fed will also go as he won't want to accept the back up role – so unless there is a huge offer for McCarthy I expect we will end up with McCarthy and Taylor with Henly as back up.

This would be my ideal outcome.

Leeds need a keeper, come on McDermott!

McCarthy #1
Taylor - backup.
Henly - backup.

Love Feds, but it'd be unfair to keep him if he's not going to be playing. Additionally sell Andersen for first team football.

He is contracted at Reading until the summer of 2015 and there is no recall on this year-long loan. The Danish SuperLiga is played over the summer and begins on 19th July this year.

Don't know why but I get the impression that this may be with a view to a permanent move?

Think we should just release him from his contract, or sell on the cheap. As the OS says, he's been 'exceptionally patient' here and deserves a chance to make something of himself as a club's number one keeper. With McCarthy or Federici here we'll have one of the best, if not the best goalkeeper in the league and he won't get much of a chance in the foreseeable future. Let him have a career.

Much as those are noble sentiments it is probably just as well we have NH handing contracts at the club and not you. Andersen is now unlikely to play at RFC all the time we have both Fed and McCarthy but he has 2 years left on his contract. If he does well in the Superliga this coming season he could be a very valuable asset and be sold for a lot of money at the end of next season.

Alternatively there is just a chance that McCarthy and Fed could both leave by the end of next season and he could come back as number 1 - with a good season behind him including European football. Either way it is a win win situation for RFC.

Nice research from the club who think the Danish play a summer league when in fact they don't. They do have a ridiculously long winter break though of about two months!

Federici sets his stall out tonight. McCarthy's got some stern competition.

If you actually listened to the reports you would hear that he made a string of fine saves and but for him the score would have been double!

I'd prefer it if he focused on playing football more than setting up other businesses

I'd like to re-watch the goals before I'm toooo critical of his performance. But from what I saw whilst there (because I' not going through that debacle again)...

1) Beaten easily at his near post, should have saved it.
2) Rushed off his line to close the angle, but went too quickly and too far, presenting a target in the far top corner he'd have no chance of reaching because of his momentum and position, which Tomlin took to placing the ball in superbly.
3) I think his positioning was suspect, albeit another tremendous strike.
4) Penalty - never had any faith he'd save it.
5) penalty - never had any faith he'd save it.
6) Another great shot, but he made the space by moving away from the post at exactly the wrong moment.

I appreciate I'm biased because I just don't like him. But even if most of that was over the top, half his saves were his usual over the top camera efforts and he certainly still didn't actually play well.

I'm going to be controversial, but right now, I don't think we've got any good keepers. Both are out of form and I'd love a Mark Schwartzer type instead...

it is very very uncomfortable to watch AM kicked from the ground with a striker chasing him down, his normal kicking seems to be getting worse

The 'new style' of poncing around at the back under pressure does him absolutely no favours

I have to agree with this. His kicking can be woeful at times. Twice today he kicked the ball a few yards to the opposition. First time was frightening.

The style of him kicking long does him no favours either.

We need to work on him rolling it out and the rest of the team moving into space to allow us to play through. It should be extremely rare that it goes back to McCarthy once its left his hands and preferably only when he's going to be under no serious pressure.

It's the arsing about at the back between CBs and co until we've been squeezed and there's no space to go anywhere except back to McCarthy. If a few more of our players made more effort to give an option forward it'd be fine.
