USA! USA!

I have to say I love the red and white hoops that the U.S. started wearing this year.

Blakey's Right Peg Bit of a shocker for Northern Ireland as well. Not being able to see of Luxembourg at home is not a good result by any means.

8)

couple that with losing unluckily to Portugal last Friday ("we" even took the lead before losing 2-1. Ronaldo scored).

Qualification is........................impossible.

While New Zealand are currently top of the final OFC qualification group, they got knocked out of the OFC nations cup in the semis. This means that in the Confederations Cup next year, Tahiti will be representing OFC.

lol

(currently, its Brazil, Spain, Japan, Mexico, Uruguay, Tahiti, Italy and whoever wins the ACN in the new year)

I thought that. Usually I don't like Nike kits but the USA red hoops is definitely a good one.

Get in Tahiti! They might easily become my second team.

Having just returned from 3 weeks in Brazil all I can say is start saving now. That will be the best World Cup to attend in your life time. WHAT a country.

Japan 1-1 Australia

Japan are the first team to qualify (aside from the hosts obv) with an injury time equaliser.

A point for Qatar today against Iran would put Uzbekistan and South Korea very close to qualification.

Uzbekistan would be a good tip to be the surprise package at the WC. (not to win it obv)

s**t loads of money pumped into football there in the last few years to improve the standard of their league and youth players

I'm actually on my way to Uzbekistan this summer for a month, might check out the football facilities in Tashkent, birthplace of Odemwingie.

Surprised to see so much money in the game, Uzbekistan is something like 10th on the list of countries with the most amount of poor people. And there's no water there at all.

Let us also hope they don't have the internet there either.

Just read:

Zeromax, Swiss based company dealing in Uzbek oil, gas, cotton & petrol. The presidents daughter controls the company and is worth billions. They fund the one wealthy club out there (that had Rivaldo playing for them) and also the national team and youth development. All sounds a bit cloak and dagger but it is suggested that it is all to do with making the family popular and in particular her as she will succeed the president at some point.

Of course they have the bloody internet in Uzbekistan. It's not the bloody moon you know.

Congrats to Japan! One of the world's top 15 sides now I'd say.

.... loads of minnows picking up points this PM/evening

Draws for Liechtenstein & Luxemburg - Malta win AWAY in Armenia - Albania are leading Norway (EDIT 1-1 on 89' now)

... and even the Jockos are in front in Croatia 8) - closing in on FT too.

EDIT - they think it's all over ; it is tha nooo! 3pts for Gordon - before the game - rock bottom and over half his first choice missing.
maybe that tells you a lot about his 'perceived' first choices.....bit like our lot: invariably 'media-over-hyped wasters'

...elsewhere ...

Iceland 2-2 HT with Slovenia

and presumably good news for Woy's Boys is Montenegro are behind at home to Ukraine (shows lack of knowledge/interest :? re our current qualifying position/prospects)

EDIT 0-3 to Ukraine now and Moldova held Poland too.
