Adkins won't annoy me with this sort of thing. It'll only get annoying when we start struggling, that's how it happened under Brian, couldn't stand him by the end of his tenure. Hopefully Adkins new look Brazil side will please me enough to get over the corny off the field antics.

SPARTA When the club don't come out with things like this about involving the fans and trying to make them feel important, the fans moan. When they do, they still moan. I'd rather hear positives coming out of the club and the manager/club trying to encourage the fans to be loud in numbers than not hear anything at all.

Frankly, I would have prefered it had everyone at the club just STFU rather than send this condescending sh*t through my letter box. Did you really think that putting my name on the back of an envelope with the word "hello" in front of it would get me reaching for my credit card as I called the ticket office

For the record, I will be renewing the ST I've held for more than a decade when I'm good and ready.

I'm not interested in meaningless platitudes from our new manager. I would, however, have been VERY interested to here from Mr Fat Wallet himself with regard to next season's transfer budget and the criteria he intends to apply come the day he decides that Adkins has outstayed his welcome.

Answers to this type of question would help me decide whether this will be my final campaign as a season ticket holder because, believe me, Sunshine, the jury is still out here

Nothing wrong with cheese.
Not only is it delicious, it sounds good while on the dance floor and makes people laugh.
I'm sure it's all tongue-in-cheek, but shows the guy has a sense of humour (not quite as good as Kebe's though!)

What a waste of marketing funds.

I got this yesterday and if i'm honest I don't think it really would've registered with me if there wasn't a thread about it. It's just standard marketing stuff, your eyes scan over it, pick out the relevant information (price and deadline) and put it aside.

Umm... should I have read it before putting it in the recycling?

Anyway, the call-centre guy was almost pathetically grateful when I phoned to renew, so I imagine that numbers of STH may be down as people renew later. (Or don't renew)

I would have thought fans would be more willing to embrace the cultured utterings of our new manager, given the amount of grief people gave our previous one whose only line seemed to be 'we move on'

Seeing it clearly means so much to you, yes.

If this is what floats your boat, why not ask for PM's from all those not renewing this season.........................so many orgasms to be had before the month is out.

I don’t care if people think it’s cheesy. Last season was a grind with very few highlights to choose from other than a bit of late Alfie magic.

I for one haven’t looked forward to a season this much since we first got to the P&L. If Nigel wants to spread the love & good vibes then good luck to him.

We certainly need it.

The usual suspects needs to stop bitching & whinging and look forward to yet another successful season being a Reading fan. Besides I’m an optimist I can’t help it.

Anton is hopefully putting his money where his mouth is – we could well be a joy to watch next year. I really cannot wait for the season to start now.

Haag Royal Nothing wrong with this at all. Cr*p thread trying to make a story out of nothing.

Amazing how plastics are trying already to undermine NA. I hope he reads this and realises that in every club there is a small group of individuals who to talk the club down or simply take the p**s.

:|

Winchester Royal Tbf to Maffff, he's been very positive about Adkins and I don't think he was trying to undermine the sentiment.

Cheers Winch. I'm v.RTG re: Adkins. +1 #BuildEvolveSucceed

Avon Royal I think it says a lot about the mentality of certain Reading fans that they see ambitous and unifying as "cheesy".

Title was taken from the Daily Mail.

Thought it would be good to get the images up on here. I like Adkins style and can't wait for next season.

Think Mafff was posting this with best of intentions. He's stated he's a Nige fan.
Like previous posters has said, it's just marketing. I was going to renew towards the end of the month, but like I suspect more than a few, will probably be up at the Mad Stad on Saturday thanks to today's Coup.

maffff [size=150][b] They know they have a massive role to play – the Reading supporters were the first supporters to be given the number 13 shirt, to be the 13th man.

If we're the 13th man, then who's the 12th?

The last lines are brilliant

My respect for this guy went up when I first heard him recite it.

Pity that its wasted on many here.

(as an aside....I believe that he knew what was coming to him back then....and it was a side swipe at Cortese)

I make you right on that score. He's a clever bloke. Cast from the same managerial mould as Pardew.
