So have we crossed this bridge now we've come to it? Or is it a bridge too far?

Looking forward to a season of many other awful EP back page headlines....

Lol! Calm down fella. I don't watch any U.S Team sports. Proof if needed that having a few thousand posts after your name doesn't change the fact you're a Dick.

Barry the bird boggler
windermere_royal only a one year contract

Obviously suits both parties but suggests Reading are going for it next season and not committing themselves unduly if they fail. Also perhaps he has been persuaded by talk of impressive plans and other big moves in the market....

I'd also be looking to add a striker or possibly 2 (Hooper & Sharp) a young and upcoming left back, additional cover at CB plus an attacking playmaker for midfield. Also it would be handy if we could get someone who's a bit special with a dead ball....

I wouldnt be surprised if there are options within the contract - how many games he plays triggering an extension, what happens if we are promoted, etc. One year for a 32 year old is par normal id say

What about some of the premier list released earlier today, any preferences ? Like some but not at £200.000 per week, no wonder some clubs are dumping their so called stars,Question did Wayne Bridge see all this coming and get in quick.

Delighted for the guy.

An ideal choice of club and contract

Hopefully, he'll enjoy it here.

A really good signing. I am hoping our signings overall will be a mix of experience, talent and potential. This is a good start.

TBM Thing is, his missus is going to be having a baby - so he'll get no sleep and his mind will be elsewhere and not on football

THIS IS A BAD MOVE FOR READING FOOTBALL CLUB

Better than thinking about Tiny Tears sticking his Dagenham Dildo in her, eh?

Rest easy. Family life is conducive to a happy professional in the sport of lawn-based pig bladder.

What a truly significant signing for so many reasons.

It's the first week of June and we've:

bought a decent "name" player
plugged the single biggest hole in our squad
shown that the manager can attract name players and has a defined plan
shown that the owners will back him up
shown to the rest of the league that we mean business
shown other potential signings that we mean business
shown players like McCarthy and Guthrie that it could be well worth sticking around next season
given the fans a massive lift after a pretty shitty season.

It's the Reading way for it all to go terribly wrong but as a statement of intent, it's mightily impressive.
