URZZ

I don't speak Deutsch?

He's spoken to Drenthe's "family" and they've said talk of him moving to Reading is "fabelen" which I assume means a fable,a fiction, make-believe.

It might mean 'fabulous.'

Another source from twitter

R.R. Drenthe Nieuws ‏@RRDrentheNieuws 2h
Familie van Drenthe ontkenden het verhaal, dat omdat zij nooit nieuws rondom Drenthe bevestigen.
Details

Which in Google so be warned probably every word is wrong translates: "family of Drenthe denied the story, because they never confirm news about Drenthe."

The source also says its from Drenthe.

Could be all bull but that journalist could be doing what all journalist do, mix peoples words up. Guess we will find out soon.

Apparently he's confirmed it on his Instagram.

Massive lol?! Even an idiot would be more professional than to announce something before the club involved, and on a photo social-network. He hasn't FWIW, loling at the allegation rather than the truth of it.

Where the hell has all of this come from anyway?

For some reason I got Drenthe mixed up with Riether and wondered why there was such a meltdown.

Riether would cause a meltdown too. Have you seen him play this season? Quality.

An excellent full-back but considering we're actually quite strong (at least at Championship level) at right-back it wouldn't have been a meltdown. Those are usually reserved for attacking players anyway.

I've seen a couple of different translations of the quotes from his family. Some suggest that they say it's not true others suggesting they just refuse to comment. Surely there are some Dutch nobbers out there who can look into it??

Anyway, obviously he's a great player but I do worry a bit about him as a character. His wikipedia certainly makes interesting reading:
-"After disciplinary issues during a trip to Switzerland with the B-side, coach Marcel Bout wanted him to leave the club, but everything was resolved after the intervention of Rob Baan, the director of football."
-"Feyenoord accepted a €14 million bid by Real Madrid, after Drenthe decided to take his club to court if they did not want to let him go."
-"However, the player would soon fall out of favour with the club's board of directors and coaching staff after arriving one week after the winter break ended, citing a "loss of confidence in Hércules management", rather than what was previously perceived as "a protest over unpaid wages"."
-"In March 2012, Drenthe was given a leave of absence on compassionate grounds and, upon returning, he reported late for training. This resulted in manager David Moyes omitting the player from Everton's FA Cup semi-final squad. He was caught on CCTV breaking into the training ground with two birds whom he proceeded to nail in the gym and was told to stay away from the club."

The bloke is a loose cannon in a word a nutter.Has been a problem everywhere he has been.
Hercules of Alicante couldn´t get rid of him fast enough, drove through eight sets of traffic
lights in Alicante town centre when the police caught up with him he said he did it because he was taking a sick friend
to hospital. Went AWOL a couple of times, refused to play a complete nutter, certainly not the "Reading Way " type of player.

I just hope he doesn´t come.

soggy biscuit
mumbo-jumbo As my mum would say, be careful what you wish for. There must be someone else who would also appreciate a presumably vastly inflated pay packet to join a promotion campaign next season, but who is also less of a prat? Entertaining? Exciting? Not sure.

Your mum says all that?
