72 bus Because Wayne Bridge at LB with Royston Drenth playing LW will probably be the best left side combination in the Championship

and in Gunter / McCleary we have the best RB/RW combination in the Championship 2011/12 and Mariappa was player of the season at Watford.

Drenthe signs with 'great club' Reading FC

Royston Drenthe has signed for three years at Reading FC. Last week reached player and club in outline an agreement on the transfer. Wednesday, he put his signature to the contract.

Monday Drenthe traveled to England, where he was a day later medical examination. On The Royals he will play with number 10. Because Drenthe with his previous club Alania Vladikavkaz relegated, he could transfer freely in search of a new employer. Reading, which plays in the Championship, hit fast and have to pay. No transfer fee for the former Feyenoord

"I am very well received by the club," responds Drenthe talking to Football Scoop . "Reading is to me as a fantastic club, everything is great regulated. I would return to England I did not expect a half years ago. I have confidence they know how to win and have a good relationship with the owner of the club, "he is referring to the Russian Anton Zingarevich, who took over Reading last year.

With Reading Drenthe hunts next season on promotion to the Premier League. "I have not signed anything for three years", he is ambitious. "We want to make great strides sporty. Moreover, it is important that I'm having my way, I want good football," said Drenthe, who reported on June 27 at his new club.

Neither here nor there in the Championship I'd imagine. Two good options, Cummings isn't far behind either.

He looks out of shape. Let's hope Nigel gets him on a good fitness schedule.

So we may be on the way to a Super Starting 11 but have we good enough cover for when the various losses of form, suspensions and injuries come along?

gunter presumably fits into NA's style of getting RB/LB's forward more which gunter is better at atm. kelly puts in some pretty poor crosses. gunter has pace and a decent cross on him. also in the championship gunter is more than qualified to go up against wingers, in the prem he his somewhat out of his depth. hopefully another year in the chump will make him ready for the premier league.

Yes! Kelly doesn't get forward nearly enough, but Gunter does. You could see at the end of the season Adkins favoured him there as well.

One of the things I like about this signing is the flexibility we'll have in the attacking third.

I can still see us starting out, roughly speaking, as a 4-2-3-1 with Pogrebnyak up top on his own and then 3 of McAnuff, Drenthe, McLeary, Kebe, Robson-Kanu in behind him. All of those wingers are well suited to playing in any of those 3 attacking positions (Kebe & McLeary less so in the central role) and so we could see a really fluid front line.

I agree, he is only getting better and better. A successful championship season + plenty of Wales first team caps will help him tremendously.
