USA_Loyal_Royal maybe its a drenthe/hooper or drenthe/sharp double signing  :D :?

its almost 7 over the pond right? surely it will be announced soon?

Yeah. If it's not announced before 10 then I will cry for this transfer, again.

I don't buy this double signing idea.
They won't do an actual press conference (they didn't for Bridge, not sure they have for anyone?) they'll just release some photos with a quote from Royston, Nigel, Anton etc.
Without a press conference, a double signing wouldn't be particularly special.
One of the photos of him in training kit seems to be a sort of official photo so I expect that the photos and the quotes are ready to go but they aren't going to announce it out of office hours because they want it to get maximum press coverage and Tim Dellor is tucked up in bed atm.

No he isn't - he'll be at the cricket somewhere!

More likely the press office wanted to knock off on time!

Maybe with Carroll signing for West Ham today, the club wanted sole focus on the Drenthe Signing for Sky Sports and the general sports press.

Vic_Flange For fukcs sake, what does it take to convince some people on here - the poor bugger being paraded from the Madejski Stadium to Elm Park with a copy of his contract stapled to his arse announcingI have signed for Reading FC' concurently for 24 hours in every language currently spoken on Earth?'

Nah still wouldnt be convinced

Unbelievable Jeff Seriously though, why has it not been confirmed by the OS?

I reckon its cos they want to unveil two biggies at once, and something else is imminent

I do not care if there is picture of Royston wearing our strip whilst hold Anton in his arms. Until the club confirms the deal is not done.

Looks like tomorrow now. How stupid will we look if this flops? VERY! Bet the club are not too happy with him posting sneaky pics of himself! Looks like he will be another Guthrie.. hope he spends more time on the pitch than Twitter!

He doesn't have a Twitter account for a start.

Guthrie is really not that bad. He just got pissed off Brian was playing a second chump player ahead of him.

Drenthe and his agent do seem to be a bit of a law unto themselves. The club are saying barely a word and for days Drenthe and his agent have been saying it's basically a done deal. Hope it's not a sign that he hasn't actually done the growing up he's said he's done.

Presumably this will be formally announced by the club tomorrow. Maybe they couldn't put together the usual publicity shots for a press release in time for today. Maybe they wanted a press conference and couldn't sort it out. Maybe they thought there was no need to make an annoucement seeing as Drenthe's been confirming it for days.

I agree BM did treat him a bit poorly in my book. We all know that BM had his favourites.. wonder if they will flock to him at dirty Leeds?

The OS are waiting to announce a double signing, they are just holding out for Alex Pearce to agree terms.

Well it's as good a theory as any other on here
