Probably too much of a gamble. Newcastle fans always wanted him to be great but he just couldn't cut the mustard.
I'm sure that as a former Spanish u21 he has the potential to pick his career up again and make a big impact somewhere, but he could equally spend the rest of his career as an expensive benchwarmer.
