Skillz, a big lad in midfield who can play was as important an addition as any we needed this summer IMO.

Clearly I've got Anton and Nige's confidence, anyone else I should recommend to them guys?

£2m was the figure being floated around.

kitsons pubes Director of Football Nick Hammond said, “Danny is a versatile player and he is our struggle pig.”

Not to mention Mr Watts, a journo who tweets what he knows rather than what we tell him

Still 10/1 to win the league.
I just stuck £20 on that.

Never have i been so confident going into a new season. And this is still only the 3rd out of the 7 suggested by Anton as well.

Must admit I know nothing about this guy, but I trust Nigel's judgement! What a window so far!

Surely if he was that good, Reading wouldn't have signed him?

Shitting Nora. Cheers for the assist Gylfi. If the guy played in the Bundesliga as a DM he must be pretty sturdy and have a pass on him. Our midfield which has often seemed to lack a little in complementary pairings and quality, now looks shit hot at this level.

Doesn't bode well for Jem, Leigertwood or Carrico. This seems likely to be best news for Akpan to me as he may be the most likely to happily sit on the bench as cover, whilst Karacan may want out to play regularly. I'm assuming Guthrie's nailed on to start. He must be....

I have to say it is a bit odd Hoffenheim selling him if he us as good as they seem to think. And 2M is not a lot these days but he certainly looks a much better prospect than Weis.

Presume 2 of Karacan, Carrico and Legs are off.

He only had a year left on his contract, which would probably explain a) why the fee is "just" 2m and b) why they were selling (they clearly wanted to cash in now rather than risk losing him on a free)

The pessimist in me is increasingly worried about us moving into spectacular fail territory next season.

Fair dinkum though, these signings are exciting in their ambitiousness. Welcome aboard Danny.

'Hoffenheim will more than likely keep him at DM but he is versatile and can play CB and RB when needed, but IMO he plays best at the DM position because he is a defensive beast with speed. I really hope Jurgen gives him a shot at DM with the USMNT.'

From US soccer forum. He really does sound like a beast of a struggle pig to be honest.

As has already been pointed out he only had a year left, plus Hoff have plenty of CM's so he probably wasn't massively valuable to them.

Funny how we're looking at this though, we've just signed a young international from one of the best leagues in Europe and some are still sceptical..how things have changed in 18 months
