Link on twitter repeating what we heard and saying he was upset to not play more, so I assume he is match fit then..

Or making it sound like there were non-fitness reasons for not playing, like when we signed him. The line was that he had a contract issue. But also a long term knee injury... errr.... so which was it?

When he signed the line used was that he had a contract dispute with Sporting Lisbon, just like ours with Pearce and he wasn't playing because of that.

To those desperately wanting Carrico to be a success, I think you will be disappointed. Just doesn't feel right at this club and I think he will get bullied too much in the Chump. Add to that he is hardly showing the attitude of being up for the fight. I think the signing of Williams shows he will be out the door the moment we get any offer in.

Tokyo Sex Whale Strange that he would complain about not playing much if it was a contract situation that stopped him from playing.

My instinct tells me he is just pretty sh*t. Was unfit when he joined us and hasn't lived up to expectation.

looked good both times i saw him play

unfit, but good

Will be a shame as he looked good after his poor start

It's no real loss when we haven't had a chance to see what he can do. As long as we get our money back then c'ya.

Strange, Adkins said this in late April(see below) We getting different info from both parties. Be gutted if he goes and we never give him some games to show his talent. Confused

The only time I have seen him was in the second half against Liverpool. He was terrific.

He will be a star this season.

That's what I heard.. Strange that he wasn't given a start after that though.. I find the whole thing annoying as both sides say something different. Just a waste if we don't give him some games and just sell him this window.

Carrico added: “I have no regrets (signing for Reading)

I wouldn´t either, being paid 20k a week for doing very little would suit me very well.

No, but it will be a great loss if we sell him and it turns out he is amazing. At least give him a try b4 getting rid

Bar his first appearance( which he should not have been chucked into knowing he was unfit and not played for the best part of the year b4) what I saw of him he showed very very promising signs. Eye for a pass, composed on the ball, generally good all round.

I'd heard he had been frozen out by McDo as he wasn't one of his signings. Although staying out of the team when Adkins came in suggests he wasn't fit either.

That would actually make sense, Brian signs him, don't play him and he turns out to be decent.

Went back to look at his record on transfermarket

He was 21 and one week at the start of the 2008-09 season and
started 25 games for Sporting at the top level.

I see he also played both home and away legs v Man City where Sporting
lost 3-2 in Manchester, then won 1-0 at home and knocked City out

He must have some quality!!

There's no djsputing the guy has talent, but he couldn't get fit in four months. What makes anyone say he'll manage it in the 6 weeks of preseason. This is a guy who said he was fit and expected to start the next game after his first appearance. He's obviously a little divorced from reality.

Think everyone at the club and also the player himself will see his signing as a mistake. The dilemma is do you try to make it work (Cummings would be a good example - frozen out but then became first choice RB in our promotion season) or do you cut your losses.

It looks like Anton is not very sentimental so I think the second will happen and he will be gone by 1st Sept - and we have his replacement in Williams already.
