We desperately need a striker or two, and have four weeks to get rid of Pog and LeFondre. Pog is the more important one: we might have to consider one of those loans where we pay some of his wages, but a free transfer to somewhere in the old Soviet Union of the Bundelsga should be possible. If QPR can 'sell' Samba, we should be able to get Pogrebnyak off our books. It is rubbish when we have unwanted players hanging around with the season started.

Not sure the management will be desperate to ship Pogs off though.

It's sort of win win for us.

Sell him, our wage bill will be reduced lots.
Keep him, and we keep a striker who has a big reputation, even more so for the Championship.

I'd not worry if he went (as long as we signed a decent replacement), but I'm happy if he stays. With players like Drenthe, he'll get more service (fingers crossed), so hopefully he'll be a different player than he was last season. Lets remember, Roberts was a huge success in the Championship because he is great at holding up the ball + he possesses great strength. Pogs (in my opinion) does everything that Roberts does but far, far better.

Agree, but Roberts is/was faster than the Pog ...

Of course not, but he will want to go to a Prem club or back to Russia given the chance.

genuine laugh out loud!

but in all seriousness, even if pog and alfie both stay we do need another class striker.

pog, alfie, blackman, samuel, and a 15+ goal striker (rhodes, austin, hooper) and we will tear up the chump. (and roberts if he stays healthy, i dont believe we will see him feature tbh)

They're all in a different world thinking we'll signing anyone for more than a couple of million at the most this summer.

Notice we haven't handed out shirt number 3 yet. Also a Blackburn fan thinks we're keen on Stephen Warnock. I can't see him coming in and playing second fiddle to Bridge, but you never know. Certainly more realistic than this bollocks.

lol, you patronising cretin

It's been confirmed that we've at the very least enquired about Hooper. We wouldn't do that if we weren't willing to pay a fee around the 4/5 million mark for the right player.

We also wouldn't do that unless we wanted good PR. Adkins refused to be drawn on any player speculation today, no names, no hints, but said he expects a couple more to come in. So you think he would quite happily admit publicly we want Hooper? Perhaps you're the cretin if you believe everything a journo says.

Hooper's spokeswoman said that his representatives had spoken to us.

We also just spent >1.5m on a relatively unknown foreigner, so I don't think 4/5m is out of our acceptable range atm.

Still, you carry on condescending everyone as if you are somehow clued in with the club's new transfer policy in a way that the rest of us can only dream.

No one has a clue really apart from those at the club and whoever they're talking to.

We know there has been contact between RFC and Hooper's representatives but lets face it he isn't going come here ahead of interest from PL clubs which there currently is from both Norwich and Hull. So unless that falls through...

Still I'm getting seriously bored with the lack of concrete rumours that are actually going somewhere at the moment

It all seems to have gone a bit quiet on the transfer front of late.

I just have a gut feeling (not wind) that we will soon be announcing a big signing. May be just wishful thinking.

For me, Eisfeld is the player I would most like us to sign. A young creative midfielder who has been schooled at a quality club.

I would like another striker but I do think that the Pog could have a field day in the Championship next season, if he stays.

+1 for Eisfeld, just what we need.
