So, he's off on loan to Sevilla. What a complete and utter waste of time him coming to us it has been.

Good move for him. Not too bothered from our POV as Guthrie, Karacan, and (hopefully) Williams will all be better suited to the Champ and in Ledge and Akpan we have very capable deputies.

See ya Danny, best of luck.

Has he gone then? Good. If he's one of the two that Nigel Howe suggested we may lose then I'm happy with that. Pog will be the other. I just hope it stops at two and we keep the Le Fondre's, Guthrie's and McCarthy's.

Hard to really give a toss. Looked skilled, but like he was ready for the knackers yard.

So disappointed. I really hoped he'd prove his fitness and be part of an incredible Reading engine room.

Anyway, where did this news come from?

Scrap that, quotes all over twitter saying he couldn't settle and had problems with the manager - which manager though?!

Still disappointed :(

Cannot for the life of me work out if Carrico is good, shit, injured or a McDermott issue.

Not that bothered as Guthrie/karacan look a solid partnership. And Williams/Akpan should give us some different qualities.

Good luck to him I guess.

That's not bad for him or us. If he does well at Sevilla and finds his fitness he can, errrr, come back to his maisonette in Reading.

Hard to be bothered about this considering he hardly played, but you only have to look at where he is going to think maybe he's 'one that got away', a bit.

Yes, on a loan deal - perm. He also said he's never settled here and has fallen out with the coach

I too am annoyed with this, as I thought he'd be a class addition

He may well be talented, but that's pretty irrelevant if the application and desire isn't there - especially in a league as competitive as the Champ.

Luckily we've signed Drenthe then.

Well the difference of course being that he chose to sign for us knowing we were in the second tier - thus implying that he actually wants to be here.

Carry on writing the guy off before he's even had a chance to speak let alone play though

Happy with this. Clearing out the deadwood from the squad is sometimes quite hard but we've managed to ship a few out already so that's promising.

Could never understand the blind optimism surrounding the guy to be honest, and can't say I'm surprised he's not going to be involved this season.

Not writing him off as a player, but when someone says 'I will not be staying England' that tends to imply he's not going to be particularly motivated for the season ahead.
