King van der Kwaak
SPARTA
Royal Ginger Of course it could be something to do with him moving from here

I don't think that's fair. KFC has been replaced with a kebab shop. Maybe that's why Carrico went? It's Bobby Mikhailov all over again!!

Really? That's a shame. KFC was convienent in Tilehurst for a range of reasons, but such is "progress". It's been so long since I lived there that Mark Whitlock was still playing for Reading, so I can't complain, it's not like I give them regular custom or brighten up their day.

That co op fud used to be Bishops when I lived in Tilehurst

Thanks for that.

Basically though, it could be BS. One of the more believable ones though as seems reasonable. I still kinda hope it is BS though.

SPARTA
No Fixed Abode Well this news is a bit  for the club.

Hardly. He was signed by a previous manager who miss-managed him, as he did a number of his other signings and players in general. The club brought a promising player to the club to help keep the club up, he came in on a decent wage, we went down, it didn't work out, and now he's off the wage bill and we stand to get more than we paid for him if they take the option to buy next summer. It's not embarrassing for anyone.

He wasn't match fit when he signed.

Signed to keep the club up

I think most Reading fans on here agreed, he wasn't a signing to help the cause last season due to his lack of fitness, but to be a future star from this forthcoming season onwards. Another great scouting job by Hammond and co.

TommyF where has this been reported??

Not a bad move if it happens, though I would have liked to have seen him play a bit more than he did.

I can't deny I am more than a little bit disappointed about this, and would love to have seen him get a run in the side for no better reason than to be able to make a better judgement on him. I have to :D though at the people who seem to think he is rubbish or useless, you don't get to be Sporting Lisbon captain by being crap, nor do you get to play for Portugal. He is (or could be!) going to a team that (I think!) has been in La Liga for the last ten years, finishing ninth last season. He is not going to the Spanish equivalent of Huddersfield. I hope I am wrong, but at this moment I can't help but think we could be looking on this later as what might have been. :(

Daniel Carrico “Sevilla is a great club. I would love to play for them.

“I will not be staying at Reading.”

Finally some Reading fans who see sense!! I can't believe week in and week out that some fans were wanting him to start. Those fans are clueless!! He was unfit, had a terrible debut, had 2 brief cameos yet people claimed he was class?? Fickle fans. Good move for both clubs.

I think you'll find his attiude and application has been first class.

Interesting that he eludes to an incident with the Reading manager. I can only assume McDermott but now I'm curious as to who and what.........

Sevilla are a step up from us end of the day, if they want him he can't be that bad. He's probably going there as a replacement for Kondogbia, too.

Rollerbob So, a Portuguese reading fan I know met Daniel Carrico yesterday and had a chat with him.

Apparently he told him that he is off if Reading get relegated. He also said that Brian was not his biggest fan, hence why he did not play.

Sad news, as I thought he looked really good yesterday.

I got rinsed for this (^)... Hate to say I told you so.

carrico what was wrong

by paddy20 » 10 Jul 2013 15:13

Hard to understand this one. From what I have heard he looks really good in training. Great tackler and good passer. Could have built the midfield around him this year. In his first game looked ok but just not fit. Seemed out of favour with MacD and now Adkins. Must be something wrong that we dont know about.
