I think it's a good question. How is Tom related to crosses? The T in Tom is shaped a bit like a cross I suppose :?:

The humour here is really slipping...

Reading have made a £2.2m offer plus centre-back Kaspars Gorkss to Leeds United for striker Ross McCormack. I understand the offer has been declined by the player has expressed an interest in talking to Reading and the clubs are still in negotiations.

Brian McDermott is keen to bring Kaspars to Leeds, who is currently 4th choice at Reading, but would be a key figure at the back as Leeds try to plug a leaky defence ready for a play-off push next season.

I don't care if this is true or not, though it reads likely. DonnyDaveTheBrave

Billy Sharp won't be coming home, chaps! : ( Heard tonight from a reliable friend of mine that we (Donny) did make an offer but it was rejected because we wanted to spread the cost.

Sharp apparently has offers from Reading and Forest. No-one else has made any official move for him, and I'm told he's opted for Reading. I thought he'd go back to Forest, but it sounds like money talks.

It's expected to be completed next week when the club gets back from Spain or Portugal - not sure which they're training at.

I don't believe a word of it. Transfers in have finished, Hammond, AV, NA etc are already saying they are happy with the squad we have now and how wonderful Alf and Drenthe are.

Mind you, we may lose one or two more as we get close to the end of the window but they hope we don't. :D

Yes they are saying that but they are also aware they need to bring in a striker and there will be a further review meeting when they'e all back on Monday to assess the overall state of the squad. Usual ethic though; 1 they will not buy for the sake of it 2 it has to be right for both parties, 3 will not be held to ransom by clubs and 4 we will not be rushed.

Friday's Legacy It is indeed a partnership, and it will be a very similar set-up to Galatasaray. Both clubs will exchange scouting information, nutritional and sports science data, and Juventus will send youngsters on loan to Reading as part of the partnership. Talks are at a very early stage, so don't get too excited just yet.

are you anton zingarevich?

so we may get some young players on loan then? or just one work exchange type experience? i'm not sure how exciting this is for the team but for the club it will hopefully have benefits.

///edit. quote fail. :oops:

Brilliant. It's another step in the right direction and will undoubtedly be great for the new Cat 1 academy.

Thought it was 8? 4 of which were there on loan last year.

More to follow....

Building a very good side there by looks of things.

Not that long ago Reading v Watford was one of the shittest and most boring fixtures of the league season.... at least it should get interesting.

There was something on Twitter earlier from Watford saying they had signed 8 players, 7 from Udinese and 1 from Granada. Quelle surprise I guess. Would be interested to know what sort of transfer fees were involved. Whilst a purely paper exercise would probably be illegal on some level, you could question if they could circumvent the loans ruling by transferring in players from the other two clubs for a nominal fee.
