P!ssed Off btw for anyone that hasn't yet seen the Royston Drenthe highlight video from Saturday's game:

The move that might possibly have ended up as 'move of the season', had HRK finished it off, starts at 0:34.

melonheadExtended-Phenotypemelonhead I wasnt bloody having a pop, i was pulled up for not calling him my MOM (i gave him a 7, which was the joint 2nd highest score and praised him highly for the way he came out and bossed the game in the second, along with drenthe,) and this was blamed on my apparent h8red of the player.
Actually, someone innocently suggested that if McDermott managed the fallout with Guthrie better we could have seen more performances like this last season. That caused you to drag it all back up again in novel-length posts about apologies, office job comparisons, cheating spouse metaphors and needing to do more to prove his worth.
People reacted to that not your scoring or MOM-ing, which passed by without any reference at all.
if thats what happened, it appears that its "someone" who is to blame for bringing up the mcdermott fall out to start with then.the very start of this sorry mess.
tut.

Royal91 So who is now our fastest player?
Roy, McCleary or Jimmy!
And are they the three fastest in the league?

marlowuk All players make mistakes and no player was error-free on Saturday. If we have a dislike for a particular player we tend to remember those mistakes. If we like a player we tend to remember their good work and scrub out the mistakes against that.
I don't particularly like Guthrie's attitude over his time at Reading so far but he was MOM against Ipswich. He was the best of a bad bunch in the first half (which we were lucky to finish at 1-1) and he bossed the second half (along with Drenthe who looks a great buy). HRK was frustrated and nullified by the tall Mings (Ipswich were a tall team generally so our hoof-ball in the first half was easily dealt with by their defence). I was also very impressed with Williams who brought an urgency to the game when he came on and was very positive and comfortable on the ball.
Other observations ...
Gunter certainly got forward but was often caught out of position when they attacked and most of their good work came down their left side.
McCleary looked dangerous with some great interplay with Drenthe
I didn't hear the booing for McAnuff but that's a disgrace. Jobi has always worked hard for us and has been a good ambassador for the club. If he had dinked that ball over Liverpool's goalie, Cavalieri, in that 2010(?) FA cup replay (instead of steering it a few inches wide) he would rightly be acclaimed as a legend!!
Note to the back 4 + McCarthy - kicking the ball between yourselves several times before hoofing it upfield does not qualify as 'the passing game'! (Applies mainly to first half!)
I'm mainly positive about this season but (cliche-alert!!) there is work still to be done.

wally bassoon Took my 6 year old daughter and her friend on Saturday.
Saw there were about 5 people in the beer que, put them in a corner near the bookies and said dont move I will be 5 minutes. It took 15 bloody minutes to get my beer and returned to find stewards etc with my daughter.
Felt really bad, could blame the mentally slow service but it would turn around and expose my boarderline alcoholic tendencies.
Should maybe post this in the bad parenting thread
