There was very little 'longing' for the sacking of McDermott in the weeks leading up to the decision, and even now he's gone there is nobody criticising his character.

I think you'll find there was quite a bit. Perhaps not so much now, but I just wonder how long it will take before people start taking pot shots at Adkins.

friday fan personally I don't like Adkins, no playing pedigree unlike Poyet. Adkins is another yes man and perhaps when Poyet saw the budget he said no. At least Brighton offered more scope in terms of funds available and real backing in the transfer market. I think Adkins rubbed his hands and felt how lucky was he not having to go back to the ilk of Scunny (no disrespect to Scunny) on paper Reading are now a yo yo club and I guess he's on a good pay packet, perhaps another Terry the taxi moment, I'll reserve judgement on that call!

Well, wrong on just about every point there but never mind. Most interested in this point about Adkins having no playing pedigree, No playing pedigree, just Jose Mourinho, Alex Ferguson, Arsene Wenger, Roy Hodgson, David Moyes, Andre Villas Boas, Brendan Rogers.

I think if you look carefully, he was comparing Adkins and Poyet and, I think I'm right here, Poyet has a far, far, far, far better playing C.V. than Adkins does. I may not agree with his view overall but some of the replies to this just show how inadequate some of our contributors are. HINT, read what the post actually says and then shower abuse or whatever on the Poster.

Maybe you should read what my post actually says before commenting so for more self righteous on here, let me spell it out for you. The majority of top managers in this country actually had mediocre or ,in 2 notable cases, no playing careers, evidenced by managers of 6 of the top 7 last year and the current England manager (sorry, missed Rafa Benitez off that list but he only goes to further prove my point). Whether Poyet was a better player than Adkins is completely irrelevant to whether he will make a better manager. In fact statistics kind of suggest he won't.

Hoist by your own petard there methinks, but I'd expect nothing less from you.

To the last two comments. Are you really a complete Moron? Do you write rubbish intentionally whilst somehow thinking there is some sense in your head? Does Adkins have a better playing C.V. than Poyet, if not, shut up and for god's sake stop showing your immense ignorance. Every post you make says 'this man is a d*ck!'.

Comment 2. Proof that you should not be a Moderator or Contributor or Subscriber or even a twat, some twats have redeeming features, I guess you just aspire to be one of them. .

Wow, not getting up from that one. :|

Why don't you give up the act now anyway and get a new schtick - this one's busted and you're really not fooling anyone.
