MouldyRoyal McClean to Wigan, another good signing for them.

He hasn't signed yet. Bid accepted but other clubs are also interested.

Probably hoping a lower or new Premier League side steps in. Could see him going to Old Settee down the road instead of Wigan.

Their midfield could be:

McCarthy, McArthur, McManaman, McClean, McCann.

Is there a McDonalds by the ground If not there could be soon.

Tokyo Sex Whale Will be world class. Defining a new sort of role for a defender, in that he can be world class in that position without really being able to defend in the conventional manner. Somehow seems to get in the way of play, make tackles and wonder stops on the regular.

It's not a new role it's been around for decades, it's the sweeper (libero) position, 3 examples apart from Luiz - Beckenbauer, Baresi and Lucio

Tokyo Sex Whale I see where you're coming from but Luiz is a completely different type of player to these boys IMO.

From Beckenbauer and Baresi yes, but he is a carbon copy of Lucio.

Why have Newcastle become obsessed with French players?

Liverpool owner John Henry has said Suarez will not be sold at any price this summer - not to a rival and not now Liverpool have no time to find a replacement.

Gamesmanship? Or a warning to Suarez to shape up and make the most of the campaign?

What is the point of Liverpool trying to hold on to him?

Sell him for £40m and use the money to buy someone who isn't as controversial

Liverpool would have no scruples if the shoe was on the other foot. If they had finished in the top 4 last season and were attempting to prize away the leading striker of a team who finished say 6th, the first thing they'd be saying is 'he's too good for you and wants Champions League games'.

The fact is Suarez is a complete pcunt and Liverpool knew this when they signed him, however, even the most diehard Liverpool fan would have to admit he's a great player and easily good enough to find a club competing for the CL. Even Man Utd had to face up to losing Ronaldo, Liverpool need to do the same here with Suarez and stop squawking.

@SkyFootball: Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers says Luis Suarez will be welcomed back when he accepts he will not be leaving Anfield.
