PistolPete :lol:urz13 Pure speculation but I wouldn't mind us making a move for Jô. Wouldn't cost a ridiculous amount and would be lethal at this level
To be fair, £4.5m is only £3m more than we're likely to spend on a striker, a Jo has recently got back into the international side so he will be more than happy dropping a level. IN!

Reading fans, you are getting a top striker in Cameron Jerome - if you can agree the deal. I said weeks ago you'd approached us and it seems to be gathering pace now.
He'll into your system perfectly, and he's a beast at Championship level.

The Jerome to Reading rumours all hinge on Pavel Pogrebnyak agreeing terms as part of a player/cash swap deal.
He's reportedly on 50k a week at Reading plus a posh pad in Kensington funded as part of the deal (the largely reported 60k a week). Stoke will want to negotiate a 50% drop in his wages before a move is agreed.
Jerome is aware of Reading's interest and has handed in a transfer request to try and encourage a move to the ambitious Berkshire club (source: Daily Mail)

his goal scoring record isnt all that impressive. he has one good season in the championship about 8 years ago and he has been extremely average in the premier league since.

Pavel Pogrebnyak is not on his way to Celtic as they've asked him to take a 65% wage cut on his 60k a week wages.
There is interest from Russia, and Reading have also offered him to Stoke as part of the initial deal to try and bring striker Cameron Jerome to Reading. I believe that was rejected by Stoke who want cash only for the forward.
