Still reckon that we could do far, far worse than bring Kevin Doyle home. Wolves have to reduce their wage bill and I would be absolutely amazed if he couldn't do a great job for us in Adkin's team this season.

One8Seven1 That doesn't mean spending £4m+ on one player guarantees a quality signing!

Of course not but spending nothing on a player shows it's a gamble.

How old are you?? Drenthe and Bridge, oh yeah and free agent Danny Guthrie have been our BEST PLAYERS so far this season.. But yeah, they were free so they were really unambitious and a gamble. You muppet!

Apart from Drenthe, they were unambitious.

I'm sure someone had speculated or linked us with Barry Bannan of Aston Villa, but some ITK on him, he seems set to link up with Celtic. Bannan met Peter Lawell after Celtic's first game of the season, the deal to Blackburn is off and he is willing to take a pay cut to move up to Celtic.

NA has reiterated that the owner has been aware all summer what we need (strikers) and he expects two signings before the window closes.

Mcdermott buys a 33 year old left back, ''That's a short term fix not looking to the future at all!'' Adkins signs a 33 year old left back, ''great move! Ambitious signing''. Don't get me wrong Bridge is good for this division and he's done quite well so far but he's not what I'd call a massively ambitious signing. In fact i'd in as far to say that out of the three signing's this Summer he is the least ambitious when compared to 26 year old ex-Real Madrid player Drenthe and current international Williams.

Valid points, aimed at me I'm sure, but I'm not claiming Bridge was a fantastically ambitious signing, but I certainly don't believe him to be 'unambitious'.

Tbh I'll be disappointed if Adkins doesn't have long term plan to fill the left back slot, and if in 2 years time we're still stuck with a 35 year old Bridge and nobody younger coming through putting pressure on him then I'll be having a pop.

Tbf, 33 year old left back from Man City, is slightly more ambitious than 33 year old left back from Carlisle.

I've never really got the Kes school of fishing where you make yourself look like a total moron to provoke others into pointing out just what a oxf*rd moron you've made yourself look, and that means you've some how won when they do.

It's still you looking like the total oxf*rd moron.

McDermott signs a 33 year old left back who hasn't played at that level or the one above for sometime as a short term fix and then continues relying on him for three years. Adkins signs a 33 year old left back who, iirc, just won player of the season, or championship left back of the season and was recently at one of the top clubs in the country, from under the noses of two of our rivals for promotion.

Come back and cry hypocracy if Adkins is still relying on Bridge in the PL in two seasons time and no one is complaining about it.

Well past his sell by date? At 29?

IMO still has far more to offer and prospect of scoring goals (given right service) than Blackman and a crocked and probably past his sell by date Roberts!

Both well known in the game and played in Champions League, World Cup, etc. Bridge may not have gone as low as Carlisle but he has been struggling for a few years hence why he dropped down to the Championship in the first place.
