urz13 I don't buy into the Gunter love in at all. He's played badly and made mistakes in almost every single game he's played for us

Kelly is no better at right-back. He was brought in as some kind of savior and has been remarkably average. He has little pace and doesn't get forward in support of the winger, which is what Adkins wants. I'd have Cummings over Kelly.

I wouldn't call Kelly average. He was brought in at a time when goal after gol were coming through the right back position. He plugged the gap and if that'd been our only problem we'd have been ok. No he doesn't get forward very well, but we need a better defence right now. A winger will be better if he has confidence in the guy behind him to defend for him.

Gunter isn't the problem at the moment, everyone makes mistakes during the game, Gunter hasn't had any more than anyone else. Our problems are more centre-back where Mariappa should be for Morrison.

The Centre backs are the ones letting wingers get easy crosses sent in so easily then are they?

I can't think of anyone else in our team other than Gunter who looks capable of trying to play a simple backpass under little pressure against Bolton, and hoofing the ball out of play for a corner....

I don't remember this. If this isn't already a gif it needs to be.

An excellent point, undermined only slightly by the fact that none of the goals we've conceeded have come from a cross a full back was defending.

Crossfield ball from midfield.
Cross from a throw that the midfielders were defending.
Corner.
Penalty.
Deflected shot from 30 yards, centrally located.
Possessional error.

Besides, the defence isn't much of a problem bar Watford, who are clearly one of the best teams in the division. We've not kept clean sheets, but we've also only conceeded more than one goal once.

The main problem is upfront. Although when ALF has started our record is 5 in 2, with him getting 2 of them. And he has also missed a further 3 good chances. Suggesting we create a good number of chances when he starts. Compared to 2 goals in 2 games without him starting.

A bit of patience, a new striker and a settled side will work wonders for us. Panic changes in defence help no one.

Letting in crosses willy-nilly is a bad thing whether or not they result (directly) in goals. Puts pressure on the central trio which leads to mistakes and the like in many cases. Overall upsets the balance of the team and is a definite factor in not keeping clean sheets!

Well he's starting tonight so Adkins is obviously giving him a chance

Good, hope he has a good game, i like the lad.
He's an honest professional who always works hard. It wasn't so long ago he was playing right wing away at Cardiff in the playoffs. I personally can't see the difference between him and Gunter (apart from physically, obviously).

Clearly.

Cummings was played on the wrong side. What's Gunter's excuse for being a useless heap of shite?
