ZacNaloen In that he's trying to change the footballing style at the club and fans don't have the patience for that change to take place?

yep.

Let's just hope Anton has the good sense to ignore these reactionary plebs.

just to clarify, I am not calling for Adkins head here.
This season has similarities to the brief Rodgers era in that many of us got excited about a new footballing philosophy.
Adkins is similar to Rodgers in that he has a strong belief in his philosophy and that it will work at Reading.

It just feels a little bit like 'Groundhog Day'.

Discuss.

These things don;t happen over night, that's why it is familiar.

Rodgers didn't get enough money or time Adkins that remains to be seen.

Mostly, I think we look better than we did under Rodgers. due to the better calibre of player here now.

Rodgers and Adkins are both as bad as each other.

winchester_royal Don't you think we're overreacting a bit here lads?

This is, afterall, a team full of players that Adkins doesn't really r8.

Massive difference in that Rodgers was having to sell all the first teamers that were on big money but not being given the money to replace them.

Adkins looks to have been backed (a bit) with bringing in players. Will need more though to get in his type of player.

JS28ZoD It takes years to change the philosophy of a club, please everyone have patience and at least give the guy a couple of full seasons. Rashly chopping and changing the manager will not help us in the long run.

Spot on. Factor in the vast majority of this squad are what he's inherited, it will take time.

If players aren't good enough or simply don't want to buy into his style of play, he will need time to convince or to get rid.

winchester_royal I'm almost as far up Adkins backside as I am my own, but sadly, not at the same time

He does, which is why he sacked their favourite.

Genuinely scary how people think today's game is a complete indictment on Adkins' ability as a manager. Judge him on how we do in the league this season, not in pointless cup games in which our second string are playing.

Now we know why those players aren't getting picked. Should end those discussions.

Luv Adkins.

To the people who want him out: Go watch Sunday League, plenty of hoof ball there for you to enjoy.

Been away the start of the season but followed matches on here. There was a lot of positive comments, how we're playing good football, how the games have been entertaining, even seen someone saying get down to the ground to see them.

But one bad result (really bad I no) and everything's gone to pot?! As people on here have said, it's not Adkins players that he signed (apart from Williams) and we can't get rid of some of them because no one will want them.

Patience is the key. It will be a season to stick by the team!
