He's potentially been one of our best players, but to suggest he's not had a run of bad games under McDermott is a bit far fetched. Whenever he came back from injury he was poor.

Hhis reluctance to actually ran at and go past defenders for runs of games made him half the player he should've been.

As for being a blow for our promotion chances I disagree on that. Shifting out Kebe should free up funds to make further improvements and bring in players more suited to Adkins style. I think that will ultimately make us stronger.

Players as good as Kebe don't come along every day of the week.

I don't buy the "not suited to Adkins' style" line for one second. I reckon Adkins would have taken him ahead of any of the right wingers he had at Southampton.

The only thing consistent about him during that time was his injury record. The other 'record' was the length of time he took to recover from injuries compared to most other players. I really hope we haven't offered any guarantees!

And if Nick Hammond has managed to avoid the fee being appearance related then he truly has worked a miracle! If, on the other hand, it is appearance related, we can look forward to receiving just a few thousand quid.

Looking at their forum yesterday it seems to be generally positive with the odd concern about his injuries. Some thought they maybe had too many wingers if Kebe signed though.

Previously, I thought, "well, it's fine because he's never fit and he is inconsistent." I also thought "what a shame, on his day, he is unplayable."
