Sebastian Assuming that any fee is not tied to appearances, I'd quite like him to get a season-ending injury after he leaves.

Nice, that's probably why there is little loyalty nowadays

Royal Lady Until there is categoric evidence that he refused to play for us and wasn't injured, I'm going to believe Kebe. If the club were close to selling him to Palace, couldn't Palace have asked that he didn't play on Tuesday for fear of injury?

Hang on a minute - didn't Kebe come out himself on Wednesday and say that he'd ruled himself out of the game because he "felt his hamstring" on Monday?

You seem to be implying that you think that the club ruled him out of the game and Adkins is lying when he says the player declared himself unfit himself out, but the player has confirmed that fact himself - still, never mind, any excuse to attack Adkins/the club eh RL?

The only matter for debate seems to be whether he really was injured, or whether this was "convenient" on Kebes part to ensure he didn't get crocked just before a move to a PL side...Adkins obviously doesn't believe the player, and from other comments seems to believe that Kebe could have contributed towards the end of last season, but didn't.

So on one side you've got a player who has a history of forcing a move by not playing, who has only spoken to the press in the past when it's in his own best interest (when trying to extend a contract for example), who was rumoured to have said he'd never play for Reading after the sacking of McDermott and who it appears is on the verge on a move to a PL side.

On the other, a manager who has not said a bad word about the player until this week, who must've been frustrated about the unavailability of one of our best players late last season but who seemingly didn't really believe he was injured yet still didn't voice those frustrations, and who only spoke about the situation when directly asked about it in an interview....

I know which party I'm inclined to believe, and it's not the one currently flat hunting in South London....

I certainly don't wish a career ending injury on him. Players come and players go

Don't worry it's just a ploy for Kebe to prove that he really is injured.

So.
On Friday, Kebe is told he's not going to be risked for a long journey up North, but will play on Tuesday. Presumably with the suggestion that he shows what he can do to earn his place back in the side.
On Saturday Kebe rings up BBCRB and says he's been fit for two weeks and not been picked.
On Monday Kebe calls his manager and rules himself out of playing on Tuesday, saying he's tweaked his hamstring?
On Tuesday, Adkins is asked about why Kebe didn't play and informs the media of the reason, he then goes on to say that there's been PL interest in the player and implies there's a link between the two and that Kebe could have played at the end of last season but didn't want to and used injuries as an excuse.
On Wednesday / Thursday its confirmed that Palace have made a bid that we've accepted.
On Thursday, Adkins confirms Kebe does a full training session.
On Saturday Adkins confirms that Kebe was at Palace having a medical
On Saturday Holloway confirms he's signed Kebe.

Now none of that confirms that Kebe pulled a sickie and refused to play when he wasn't genuinely injured. But it doesn't take a genius to read between the lines and come to the obvious conclusion.

Especially when it's a player who has previously gone on strike at his loan club, to push through a move to another club. And has previously spoken out to the media about a lack of signings and ambition from the club, whilst in contract negotiations. And who was rumoured to have said he wouldn't play for Reading again once McDermott was sacked.

Anyone who thinks Kebe is entirely innocent in this has their fingers in their ears, their eyes closed and are shouting "Nar nar nar, I'm not listening, nar nar nar."

Kebe comes out of this smelling of effluent.
