Lacoste To make sure we were extremely strong going into this season.

Poor foresight and a lack of closing ability from squeeky has left us scrabbling around in the last minute bargain basement yet again.

We have learnt nothing. Squeeky is good at making money from sales but seems shit at actually closing incoming deals.

3 CB's (our best one has been sold) - shit strikers and we have lost one of our wingers. Thank got McCleary hasn't been taken yet or we would really have top rely on shit like HRK the absolute donkey.

Will this club ever learn, soundbites from the Russian saying we will be stronger than last season don't help.

Utterly shit tinpot bollo*

Chance missed.

Can understand your sentiment but would wait until 11pm before throwing toys out the pram.

Shane Long going to Hull.

Never had a chance of getting him but good to see a newly promoted side showing a bit of ambition.

I've said it before, and I will say it again, I have feeling that Adkins will walk out if we don't manage to secure any decent signing before the window shuts tonight, especially as we've sold 2 of our "star players".

Coppell & McDermott were loyal and came to terms with working wonders with now no money from the Squeaky owners, i think it will be a different story with Adkins who was sold the story of having funds available when clearly there aren't any.

Speaks volumes that Wigan are actually showing a bit of ambition and signing proven goal scorers and spending reasonable money to get back to the Premier league. Unfortunately once again the Chairman/owners talk the talk but not the walk.....I wish to be proofed wrong but some how I won't be surprised come 11pm tonight.

Ambition my arse!!!

But I think we have tried (as always) but that squeeky twat has yet again failed to close deals.

I would be made accountable if I was as shit at my job as he is. How many players have we missed out on at the 'last minute'? signings we 'thought we had completed'.

Squeeky can't close.

Calm yourselves down to a panic people, the transfer window is still bloody open!

Just because we've yet to announce any further signings doesn't mean we haven't been working on any, or that there isn't one lined up to be announced shortly.

We knew about Mapps leaving early this morning, but neither club announced anything until much later in the day, so perhaps a deal is already done? Maybe we're waiting for Stoke to get their man before they will give us ours? Maybe just like the Bale saga we've been negotiating a deal with an agent/club for weeks ready to be announced today?

There are so many possibilities, surely it's too early to be pulling the trigger on the club?

Agree with that, shoot them after the window has closed, but it's unfair to before hand.

I hold little hope but still cling to the hope about three players makes me think we will do business, but if we've sold two, we need to buy as many ready made replacements and address the weak spots or we've gone backwards as the squad isn't good enough.

Did anybody expect different from Reading FC?

Tim Dellor @TimDellor
There is some furious activity going on. "Expect a striker before 11" i'm told. Hardly news! Apparently "2 deals have collapsed today".

Great closing, Squeeky.

Lacoste
No Fixed Abode Reading with Atkins in charge isn't an 'attractive' proposition for many players.

Which is why you should have got Gus Poyet or Zola.

Oh grow up and move out of Mummy's house you 35 yr old loser.

Most, if not all, successful managers state that you need to have 4 four decent strikers and four decent centre backs if you want to stand a decent chance of success. Once again it is looking increasingly likely that this good advice has been completely ignored by the owner, chairman and DOF.

I think the manager and owner are on the same page and knew what we needed.

Hammonds neck could be on the block here.
