Amazing that we were originally going to sign 8 players

Then the final week of the transfer window we were going to sign 3 more players

Then with 3 hours to go we've lost arguably our best CB and our 2nd best winger with nobody coming in

Did anybody really expect any different from Reading FC?

So much for winning the title with 100 goals and record points.

We've got:

1 left back
2 Championship quality centre backs
1 Championship quality striker

If Anton still expects Adkins to win the title he's deluded

This is pathetic, 3 months of building it up but not signing anyone then trying to do everything in the last day when everyones waiting on 2 or 3 deals to allow the dominoes collapse

Absolutely un-£&@&£-believable.

windermere_royal Every other flaming club can do it, why not us? Cardiff have spend 28 mill, palace have bought in 13 players , even Hull have made big signings

and all will be well and truly oxf*rd if/when they get relegated or their backers lose interest.

Why not just say Anton should be spending £300 million on making us champions league contenders?

You are an idiot.

Player's representatives are running this thing. A player indicates they want to move. and then the agents take over. Often even the player doesn't know exactly what's going on.

The agents hold it until the last minute in order to screw the prices up. We may have wanted players, and made offers for players, even to the point of agreeing outline terms. The agents will still want to wait and see if they can get more. "Gazumping" was always popular for a reason in any market where bids are involved. Someone shows their hand, the player is tempted, then all you have to do is better it and you get the deal. So it goes, to the wire.

And you want to blame RFC? Wrong target.

I will quite happily blame RFC come 11:00 for not bringing in adequate replacements. As it is not yet 11:00 I still have hope.

First post here after lurking for a long, long time. Blame Mariappa!

I was going to type a long, sarcastic message.

But it just seems easier to say to oxf*rd off you fickle oxf*rd.

Signed three European standard players, sold two reserves and you're moaning like oxf*rd

I miss Bury and Oldham on a Tuesday night.

European Standard players? :D

Losing the one player who could win games for us last year and another who was recognized by almost every Reading fan as a very promising CB is difficult to defend.

Gaining a former England international, a former U21 player of the year and a regular in the league that gave us two Champions League finalists?

Yeah, Reading are above that aren't they?

Lacoste To make sure we were extremely strong going into this season.

Poor foresight and a lack of closing ability from squeeky has left us scrabbling around in the last minute bargain basement yet again.

We have learnt nothing. Squeeky is good at making money from sales but seems shit at actually closing incoming deals.

3 CB's (our best one has been sold) - shit strikers and we have lost one of our wingers. Thank got McCleary hasn't been taken yet or we would really have top rely on shit like HRK the absolute donkey.

Will this club ever learn, soundbites from the Russian saying we will be stronger than last season don't help.

Utterly shit tinpot bollo*

Chance missed.

No Fixed Abode
Lacoste
No Fixed Abode Reading with Atkins in charge isn't an 'attractive' proposition for many players.

Which is why you should have got Gus Poyet or Zola.

Oh grow up and move out of Mummy's house you 35 yr old loser.

 Imagine getting so rattled about football. LOLoser indeed.

Absoutely.

No Fixed Abode
