Good effort, but I attended games at the Stag that sometimes doubled that in the early nineties....back when Jerry williams played for the Royalists.

Farnborough game off this weekend too. Quite incredible shambles. Not clued up on the workings but has one club ever had so many different problems?! :shock:

Brian Lee and his cronies, just don't want them around

If the NLP is to be believed, they have (just about) met every demand placed upon then

Only for the goalposts to move

PS The North Berks league starts this w/e too - been an awful lot of chops 'n changes and the usual raft of departures throughout all five divisions on the eve of the season. Looks like a net loss of about half a doz. clubs. Something awry has occurred up at Didcot Casuals too - if I'm reading things right ; they have dropped a division and dissolved their Reserves? :(

Results w/e 31st August

FA CUP Preliminary Round

Friday 30th August
Wantage Town 2-3 Didcot Town att 321
- got to this with the younger two - sadly no progs :( even though (very unlike me) we arrived a good 25' before KO. - They also ran out of certain items at H/T no Cheese nor Bacon - put a slight crimp on the 'comestibility' of their Bacon Cheeseburgers! :twisted:
Cracking match - Diddy on the back foot for long periods but defended stoutly against very lively opposition from the league below them. They just about did all the 'dirty' things better ie in defensive midfield. Bit harsh on the 'Freds who may have just warranted a return at 'The Loop' but going into the game without both of their first choice CBs proved fatal as they looked uncertain and tentative on the few occasions Diddy managed to unleashed themselves - two snorters from Haysham and Ferreira (sp ?) followed a comedy og in the first couple of minutes.
Diddy host another 'local' adversary in the 1st Qualifying Round on Sept 14th - North Leigh.

Badshot Lea 2-3 Hartley Wintney - HW face Cambo in the next round

Saturday 31st August
82 Kings Langley 2-1 Newport Pagnell Town
83 Uxbridge 5-1 Stotfold

96 Leighton Town 1-3 Biggleswade United
97 Bedfont Sports 1-3 North Leigh
98 Beaconsfield SYCOB 5-3 Bracknell Town
101 Marlow 1-2 Chertsey Town :(
103 Ashford Town (Middx) 0-0 Bishop’s Cleeve
104 Binfield 0-0 Cheltenham Saracens - replay Wed night (4th) - sadly wipes out my first choice this Tue - would have been 'Yellamen v Moles'
105 Shortwood United 2-1 Egham Town
106 Ardley United 1-0 Hanworth Villa
107 Chalfont St Peter 5-3 Tadley Calleva ChStP led 4-0 by 30’, 5-1 at HT - so brave effort for Tadley having been restored somewhat unexpectedly to the competition?
108 Fleet Town 0-1 Westfield
109 Windsor 1-3 Highmoor Ibis :shock: reportedly H/I three up at H/T - not much else appearing about the game on the CCL F'Focus? :?

111 Frimley Green 0-2 Cove
112 Cinderford Town 1-3 Aylesbury United

Rayners Lane 1-1 Headington Amateurs

WESSP
Whitchurch United 0-1 Blackfield & Langley
WESS1
Andover New Street 1-4 Hythe & Dibden
Ringwood Town 1-7 {SEVEN} Andover Town
Stockbridge 2-0 Amesbury Town
United Services Portsmouth 0-3 Pewsey Vale

... decided to opt for the clockwise run around the Orbital Car Park this PM - just about made it to FA Cup tie: Harlow 4-1 Tower Hamlets. Away side were formerly known as Bethnal Green United. Actually matched their higher (Ryman) placed hosts for neatness of approach work and movement but were streets behind in clinical finishing. Not a bad ground albeit the town itself is a bit of a pig to try and navigate round - probably better if I'd had SatNav - got there by guesswork - newish-built Harlow Arena (aka Barrows farm) is along a stretch of road at the north end of the town (Elizabeth Way/Roydon Rd) (?) that also comprises a Rugby Complex - two Cricket Pitches and a Golf Course!
If the M25 're-build' along that northern stretch (jn 23 - jn 27) really is expected to take until Dec 2014, then I'm going to try and avoid any NL visits in that direction for quite a while - not than the Southern route is any better as a norm. :|

the reason the CCL Forum is quiet is becaue Windsor were dire. I think the attitude was wrong and the formation, 4-5-1, which we have had for the last 3 games does not work. No-one is good enough in the CCL to play 1 up front - even if Ben harris was fit. It is quite bizarre really as our first few games was with 4-4-2 and we looked solid. Now, we are a shambles. I don't think injuries have helped but still no excuse for such a bizarre selection.

Yesterday? Windsor were poor. Highmoor IBIS are one of the worst sides I have seen play but they took their chances and we didn't - not that there were any for us in a dire 45 minutes.

Onwards and upwards though as we head to Frimley Green next weekend for the Vase. Our midweek away fixture with Molesey cancelled as they have a Cup replay to enjoy.

Don't get the link between non league clubs folding over small amounts and the big boys money.

Would you say the same if someone who owed you money couldn't pay you got off because there are billionaires in the world?

...apparently on appeal they (Kettering) are being allowed to 'twitch' along for at least another week yet - were still due to fulfil their fixture tomorrow vs another club (ironically) who've been to the brink, very nearly beyond and back again - Dunstable Town - however I've just noticed, that fixture has now been removed this PM from the official Calor Gas site :? can't end well..... :(

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Not a particularly bumper crop of games this week - lots getting ready for the Vase at the w/e - Sluff's match with Ashford Mx pponed due to Cup Replays for both sides at Cirencester and Bps Cleeve respectively.
No link in terms of money, but their plight (AIUI previous owner's mess, attempts to negotiate/communicate go unanswered, fans losing out as usual) will receive less publicity than it should due to the transfer deadline day nonsense.
Cross border football rivalry went a step too far at Saturday's Conference game between Wrexham v Chester. The banner refers to 2 Chester fans who had died, one in some kind of accident, the other, 'Lunty', hung himself - what a bunch of charming folk! The banner was also held up during the game.
If anything summed up what a bunch of sh*tc*nts the welsh are, it is this. Massive inferiority complex towards anything english. Merthyr Town turned up at North Leigh - a village team in West Oxfordshire, average crowd 30 old men + 30 friends and family of the players - for the first game of the season, chanted racially offensive bad language, tried to sneak in without paying and generally made a nuisance of themselves.
Talking of North Leigh, they smashed Guildford City 8-0 last night in Calor League Division 1 South & West. Guildford must be stitched on for last place, they are the worst team I have ever paid to watch but the game was played with good self-deprecating spirit both on the pitch and the rival benches. Good stuff.
Not condoning the flags but Chester not blameless, with CFC graffiti painted over Wrexham fans memorial wall at the Racecourse before the game.
... few pages back mentioned difficulties pre-season with Guildford - have been forced to recruit an entire squad and a new management team + their main sponsors have 'nicked off' too so the dosh is a bit scarce!
Elsewhere last night (Tue 3rd):
SOUTHP Chesham thumped Bashley 4-1
SOUTH1C SYCOB W1-0 @ AFC Hayes, Egham bt Chalfont 2-0 and Marlow picked up three welcome points, beating Northwood by the same score: Witt & Gladwin in the goals again.
SOUTH1S&W Diddy went down 0-3 @ Godalming; Fleet got a good point at Shortwood.
- I managed to finally escape a badly gridlocked 'ding and belt along the M4/A4 to Waterside Park - arriving just in time to see Thatcham Town overcome Wimborne - only goal scored on 5' but I enjoyed the match.
In the Hellenic Prem:
RTFC kept up their 100% with 3-2 win at bottom club Abingdon United now 7 from 7 - the hosts are yet to register a point.
Abingdon Town were beaten 5-0 at Highworth.
Highmoor/IBIS continued to impress with a comfortable 2-0 win at Holyport
Bracknell's early season promise is wilting somewhat, losing 3-1 at Ardley - 3rd league defeat in a row - but they go to Ab. Utd this Saturday, followed by a local tussle at Scours next Tuesday (10th).
Perennial strugglers Shrivenham picked up a valuable away win @ Thame and - much like Henley did manage last week - are very close to getting more points than they managed in total all last season!
In tonights two league games: Wantage kept pace with RTFC, bouncing back from their disappointment in the Cup on Friday night by recording their 6th win out of 6 league games - 4-0 at WBT. They visit Scours this Saturday when something has to give - both sides are exempt from the earlier rounds of the FA Vase which kicks off this w/e. OCN bt Flackwell 2-0
In the FA Cup preliminary Round replay tonight, 'Moles' had evidently been keeping something in reserve from the w/e, as they ran out 7-1 winners (hattrick for Cornell) at Cheltenham Sarries! :shock: Binfield now go to another Hellenic Prem side Ardley in the 1st Qualifying Round on Sept 14th.
Also in the FA Cup last night, went to see the (not so) mighty Rebels lose 1-0 at Cirencester Town in the replay from Sunday's game. Lovely ground on the outskirts of the town, with friendly locals and decent facilities, but a pretty poor match with neither side creating a great deal. The only goal came from a free header not long after Slough had missed a couple of half-chances, and that was that - it's just not clicked yet as the new management team haven't had the chance to pick from anywhere near a full squad so far, with at least 3 or 4 unavailable each game (and a different centre-back partnership every time I think).
Still, Non-League Day beckons on Saturday, so it will be off to Rugby for Jr and me...
