Snowball Sadly, Southbank, it's straight up

The various Reading execs were in a very good, self-congratulatory mood at the bar, along with Mr Adkins

And they were joking about Bale's six year 300K deal

They did not give off the vibe of a group that had failed in the transfer dealings. They were all smiles and laughter and Bon homie.

IF we are getting some bigger name loaners in, I'd say the deals were already done

Hammond seemed to be fielding a lot of calls, but there was nothing "frantic" or last minute about anybody's manner

I'm saying they didn't look like a group that had just managed an important signing and were pleased, nor did they seem like a group that was pissed off.

They looked "comfortable"

I will sleep better tonight knowing this info - however it does beg the question why the hell were they all there if no deals were being done?

TheLawnMowerMan
Snowball Interesting chat with Adkins

He said that in his opinion we should have won all of our first five league games.

Recommended the book The Numbers Game

Agrees with said book that it's 50% luck but also, "About momentum"

I said that IMO Kebe and Marriappa "had been gone for weeks". He didn't disagree.

Suggested nod-nod wink-wink that the loan window was about to start...

Said he been to watch the under 21s and agreed that Ugwu had promise and that it was up to him (Nige) to get them playing time. He added he always managed that at his other clubs esp saints

Did you show him any of your stats?

No but his Daughter showed him her... no I can't.

Lets just hope Obita/Ugwu/Samuel/any CB at the club that isn't Gorkss will be good enough.

Has nobody told the club you're allowed to loan in players during the transfer window as well?

Jim White and Mark Saggers - I'm sure it's been said before but what a couple of tossers.

to me that's cheating...unless you have any real chance of the player signing at the end of the loan.

I absolutely DETEST the SSN Deadline Day hype. All these reporters stuck outside clubs' offices hyping up non-stories with gurning twats in the background... puke.

Just watched 10 mins out of fascination as I figured it couldn't have got any worse than last year.

In all seriousness, has any Nobber ever been a fly on the wall when a deal has been done or crashed?

I was genuinely surprised at the lack of "buzz", positive or negative.

IF it transpires that we were never buying someone but had lined up some loan deals already, that would fit the impressions they all were giving off.

Everyone except Hammond was Mega-cool, chilled-out etc

Russian Premier League
RUSSIAN UPDATE
European football writer Andy Brassell: "The Russian Premier League window has shut. Sport-Express - who have, it has to be said, covered it quite brilliantly - report that Zenit *do* still have a club rep in there, but that we're not expected to find out until morning which deals have made it over the line.

"So Spartak and CSKA fans face a wait to to see if Serdar Tasci and Vitinho (respectively) were registered in time. The good news? Minor adjustments to the documents are allowed if you're in the Premier League office by the cut-off time. Like when a shop closes its doors at 1700 here - once you're in, you still get served."

From Bbc.. Does this mean Pogs ours for good, all ours and nobody else's <3

:|

TBF I doubt they would still be around if we weren't trying to do deals

At the end of the day I'd rather we accept defeat and keep the £5m for Jan than panic buy random players
