I reckon Kebe has put a good word in, why else would they have been having a drink together in the hotel bar on Sunday?!

Feeling uneasy about this now, it's very likely that it was him at the club last night speaking with Hammond, so if this deal falls through it will be a pretty spectacular failure. As has been said, this is getting a lot of press since his release and it wouldn't surprise me if another team nips in ahead of us. A deal definitely fell through last thing, the agent-looking bloke in the room was not happy!!

if the likes of the Arse, Liverpool etc are interested in him, then we may have a fight on our hands. Hopefully Squeaky can't screw this one up, can he?

If Hammond can't fight off Arsenal and Liverpool then his days here are surely numbered, and rightly so.

Yep, supporters of other clubs saying they want to sign him could really scupper any potential deal for us.

Pass, I'm not an ITK. Read the quote on one of the other threads that Dellor said. Some posters who are closer to the club said Hammond was to blame.

If I had to put £20 down on it I would bet that he now goes elsewhere. Anyone want to take that bet?

Realistically though it could have been the agents who were to blame asking for unrealistic contract terms .... like the ones we allegedly gave to the Pog.

Spot on, but you always have more irons in the fire than you need, so if a deal goes sour, you have back up's lined up.

As wrong as it is, it's better to be in for a "second choice player" and let him down at the very last minute than to have one target, and it fall through leaving you, and the club up the creek.

IF we did lose two players last minute, we didn't have any plan B's in place.

I heard that Adkins and Hammond wernt overly keen on him and that a small hiccup in the medical gave them the excuse they wanted not to sign him

One of the dirtiest players I have ever seen and checking that my memory isn't playing tricks:-
His last season at PSG 5 yellow cards in 16 games
Last season at Liverpool 8 yellows in just 26 games
Previous season at Liverpool 7 yellows in 25 games.
He is an aggressive midfielder (not a centre-back) who runs all day generally just fouling people.
Never mind,we all loved Bikey and Terry Hurlock.
